Not fast asleep, just not contributing anything at all to the economy or the larger cultural dialog.

Totally.

Another buyer will come along. That guy was being a pain anyway.

ok, today officially sucks. i get to the interview, and the woman who is supposed to be interviewing me isn't there. and she's not just out to lunch, she'd left for delaware an hour earlier. no email or call to reschedule. ugh. and she was so friendly when emailing to set up the interview!
― colette, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:09 (sixteen years ago) link
xxpost I think fast asleep can't really be lumping, because it means getting rest, which will later increase your productivity. Sleep is too useful to be truly lumpy.
― kenan, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:09 (sixteen years ago) link
I am going to do *something* important tonight. I can tell.

This morning at the gym I had the most amazing view. The moon was setting in the west and I had a completely unrestricted view of it from the free weight room. It was huge and red, and it went from being high in the sky to gone in about 10 minutes.
― Jesse, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:12 (sixteen years ago) link
That sux, colette. :-(
― KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:13 (sixteen years ago) link
Acceptable lump activities:
watching TV eating leftovers making an mp3 mix that you know you'll never finish or send to anyone watching a movie you've already seen half a dozen times reading Entertainment Weekly
etc.
― kenan, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:13 (sixteen years ago) link
yeah, colette, that's bad. Of course, if she's that flaky, you probably don't want to work for her. But I know that's cold comfort when you don't have a job yet.
― kenan, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:15 (sixteen years ago) link
How about US Weekly?
― Jesse, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:16 (sixteen years ago) link
That's sub-lump. That actually affects the world negatively instead of not at all.
― kenan, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:18 (sixteen years ago) link
That is incredibly annoying, Colette. But then Jenny showed up at her current (not newly-acquired) job to find that the person she was working for was not in, so she kind of spent the day drifting. But you never know, it could still work out.
― Jesse, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:18 (sixteen years ago) link
That was a little different, since I had worked here before and was just coming back to pick up where I'd left off.
Colette, I would like to apologize on behalf of Delaware, though. Not everybody who finds themselves off to my home state is such a dingaling.
― Jenny, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 19:02 (sixteen years ago) link
eating leftovers is not slothful -- you're making the most of your available resources! ordering takeout when there are still leftovers to eat? that's lump.

Yeah, I guess you're right! Ok, awesome. I feel more responsible already. :)

I had leftovers from two different meals Monday at lunch (zucchini & pasta) and today I had more leftovers for lunch (enchiladas)!

I want these boots: http://www.zappos.com/images/735/7358775/6220-501489-d.jpg

Very sensible for winter walking! I'm trying to find boots I love, too, and have only come up with these:

There was an incredibly hot woman at the place I got lunch today wearing similar boots. I don't know how comfortable it was for her but it looked fucking awesome.
― dan m, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:15 (sixteen years ago) link
Also what I really want is these, but they're pull-on only and I will never get my ankles into them if past experience can be trusted: http://www.fryeboots.com/subpages/images/77186BAR.jpg
― Laurel, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:16 (sixteen years ago) link
I love patent leather ones! I would probably feel claustrophobic in pull-ons.
― KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:18 (sixteen years ago) link
The patent ones would go with all your sparkly dresses, Sarah!
― Laurel, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:19 (sixteen years ago) link
i don't dig patent leather. it is beautiful, i was just out in the backyard with the doggies and it was great (except for me sitting in the collected rainwater in the lawn chair). if the next door neighbor hadn't let out their dog we'd have stayed out longer but the boys started barking and barking and history says they wouldn't have stopped. i have to write a cover letter for a job at one of the city colleges then i think i'm going to ride my bike. destination.... UNKOWN!

oooo which city college

If I were wealthy and a foot and a half or so shorter, I would practice walking in heels at home to wear these: http://www.piperlime.com/Asset_Archive/PLWeb/Assets/Product/538/538939/main/pl538939-00p01v01.jpg
― KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:24 (sixteen years ago) link
being 18 in. shorter than you, i guess i could wear those but i already have heeled boots that i never wear. and bunions.
― La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:26 (sixteen years ago) link
one at harold washington (the one i hope to get) and one at truman which i'd take as beggars can't be choosers but i'd prefer the one in the loop that's 9 to 5 and doesn't require weekends.
xpost.
― chicago kevin, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:27 (sixteen years ago) link
Sarah, I'll show you how to walk in heels.
― Jesse, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:27 (sixteen years ago) link
Oh yes, bunions.
I just love vintage looking booties.
Thanks, Jesse, though you might be joking. I keep buying them, but never wear them.
― KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:28 (sixteen years ago) link
I can't wait to go play tennis!
those are cute though. i am all about looking for cute + not high heels
low heels
but cute
i got some sort of, i dunno, foldover pixie boots at the andersonville salvation army a while ago that i am looking forward to wearing.
― La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:29 (sixteen years ago) link
kind of like these but tan colored http://thumbs.ebaystatic.com/pict/280050255208_1.jpg
― La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:30 (sixteen years ago) link
Amanda, I can imagine you cuffed pixie boots and I like it!
Bunions aren't a problem I have, but those boots would be no picnic to stand in for a long time, either. I have plenty of heels I love but that are too high to go to shows in, so if that's your goal, well...scale it down, I think.

I was just browsing piperl1me. I decided it blows. Every shoe I'd pull up was only available in 3 or so sizes. "YESs... Let's see.. Ok, would you like a size 4, 6, or 6.5??"
― KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:37 (sixteen years ago) link
Are they out of stock ALREADY?? Bummer. 6.5 is way too small for me, even, so that's not even realistic.
― Laurel, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:39 (sixteen years ago) link
Oh, that wasn't in reference to a particular shoe.
― KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:40 (sixteen years ago) link

aside from kylie minogue
and dakota fanning
Your choices for the cutie bootie are 7 or 8.5.
