Tim, you have BAD TASTE.

I'm Hi, Jared Fogle (ex machina), Saturday, 20 August 2005 21:04 (eighteen years ago) link

The best albums of the nineties were by Olivia Tremor Control and Drive Like Jehu.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Saturday, 20 August 2005 21:55 (eighteen years ago) link

i don't even know what you're saying! olivia tremor control is bad or good? i like drive like jehu.

I was having a bit of fun with "I'm Hi, Jared Fogle." He gives me a hard time for little reason, seemingly. Especially now that he has revealed that he has come around to liking the Killaz.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Saturday, 20 August 2005 22:00 (eighteen years ago) link

(Whom I never really liked all that much in the first place, etc.!)

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Saturday, 20 August 2005 22:00 (eighteen years ago) link

If "I'm Hi, Jared Fogle" would like to know what music I really like a lot, he can look at the "SONGS TIM ELLISON LIKES" thread.

Oh ... wait ... no, I'm afraid that HE DELETED IT.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Saturday, 20 August 2005 22:06 (eighteen years ago) link

I drive like jehu

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Saturday, 20 August 2005 22:09 (eighteen years ago) link

I think I said I liked the Killers more than something else bad.

And when does a nomination imply that I think those albums are so great?

This is some sub-Aaron shit dude.

That Kraftwerk thread was SO UNFUNNY!

OK, I'm ammending my comments on that Olivia Tremor Control album with this comment that I just posted on the "I Love Music" forum:

I just listened to the end of the album again. There are a couple of okay songs - "Spring Succeeds" and "I Can Smell the Leaves" - but they're half-written, you know? And with the first one, it's like, "OK, you've copped a little Lovin' Spoonful/Monkees/etc. It's okay." And with the second one, it's like, "THAT'S A NICE LITTLE MELODIC HOOK THERE, BUT OMG YOU STOLE IT FROM THAT ONE SONG FROM ONE OF THE CHARLIE BROWN/PEANUTS HOLIDAY SPECIALS!!!"

Another update from "I Love Music":

Actually, we've got that Vince Guaraldi album. The song it's nicked from is "Christmastime Is Here" from the Christmas special.

"nicked" - that's an Anglophile word, isn't it?

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Sunday, 21 August 2005 04:32 (eighteen years ago) link

... or should I say ... "innit?"

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Sunday, 21 August 2005 04:32 (eighteen years ago) link

You need to listen to Keats Rides A Harley more and learn to love America again.

Cornelius J. Brosnan (Grodd), Monday, 22 August 2005 06:46 (eighteen years ago) link

Or at least what is great and not Anglophilic.

Cornelius J. Brosnan (Grodd), Monday, 22 August 2005 06:52 (eighteen years ago) link

I quoted Kerouac today on the starting to have friendly exchanges with Jon Williams thread.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Monday, 22 August 2005 07:04 (eighteen years ago) link

While listening to the 10,000 Maniacs song?

Frederick 'Whitey' Ault (Grodd), Monday, 22 August 2005 07:06 (eighteen years ago) link

Haha, no I'm not really into 10,000 Maniacs after the The Wishing Chair LP.

Dude: 10,000 Maniacs named after film by HERSCHELL GORDON LEWIS (a great American)!

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Monday, 22 August 2005 07:11 (eighteen years ago) link

Herschell Gordon Lewis is a great american as are his marketing books. Certainly it is pleasant to imagine Merchant being forced to watch his films and watching her squirm.

Frederick 'Whitey' Ault (Grodd), Monday, 22 August 2005 07:13 (eighteen years ago) link

Marissa Marchant likes Crispin Glover - DID YOU EVER THINK OF THAT???

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Monday, 22 August 2005 07:18 (eighteen years ago) link

But Marissa Marchant doesnt espouse a PC doctrine like Merchant.

The new Scooby-Doo movie SCOOB! is out today (May 15). The soundtrack, SCOOB! THE ALBUM, is out, too, via Atlantic. Closing the 12-track release is Best Coast’s “Scooby Doo Theme Song.” Hear it below.

The animated SCOOB! is directed by Tony Cervone and tells the story of how Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, and Fred became friends. In addition to Best Coast, SCOOB! THE ALBUM features Rico Nasty, Charlie Puth, Sage the Gemini, Pink Sweat$, Galantis, and more.

Best Coast returned this year with Always Tomorrow. The LP is the band’s first since 2015’s California Nights.
