Didn't TG score Risky Business, too? I remember some wierdly out of place arty synth stuff when I saw that movie on tv recently.

My first thought was TG=Throbbing Gristle and I was like OH GOD YES.

Risky Business is quite odd for a mainstream Hollywood movie, the Tangerine Dream soundtrack merely emphasizes it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Assault on Precinct 13 soundtrack (at least the stuff you hear during the actual movie) consist mostly of a few long, drony synth melodies? It's sounds quite good, but not like Autechre to me.

Slsk the 'Esper' Version of the Blade Runner soundtrack - I can say from seeing 'The Final Director's Cut' this weekend - that is the apple pie soundtrack version that roolz.

I love the Risky Business soundtrack!

Don't understand the question though. Blade Runner owns everything, can't seem to recall anything great about Dune at all. Will watch it tomorrow.

Blade Runner is good, but it's not even the best Vangelis soundtrack, let alone best in general.

I don't know if I'd say they're better than Blade Runner, but Opera Sauvage and 1492 are at least as good

Opera sauvage is the best, yeah. Antarctica is also there among his best soundtrack work, the main theme especially is the most gorgeous thing he's written.

But obviously the best soundtrack of all time is Geinoh Yamashirogumi's, for Akira.

I'd have L'apocalypse des animaux as my favourite of his soundtrack works.

It's from Heaven and Hell, don't remember if that bit is in Part I or Part II. I can check it once I get home.

Ok, I checked it, that bit starts playing in Heaven and Hell Part II around 3:15. It's always been one of my favourite parts of that album.

No but we were just talking about doing one in the thread for the latest decade by decade classical music poll, after I was bugging Pom to include Herrmann, Waxman and Rozsa in the 40s one.
