Other good ones: "Family Man," what with the infidelity and all. "Adult Education" is dripping with sticky underage sex -- I remember being vaguely aware of that fact even as a kid. It's kinda edgy stuff, really.
Not the world's greatest artists, but they did a solid job every time. B+.

Been listening to "When the Morning Comes" over and over and over.I'm gonna make a tape of uplifting musical moments for my car and this will start and end it.

I've been playing the last three songs from "Bigger Than Both of Us" over and over. That's the album that has Rich Girl, which is just fine, but it turns into like hard rock Steely Dan or something right near the end. Can't find a video for my favorite song, but Spotify has it:

The song before that, "Room To Breath" is on youtube in this pretty amazing live version, along with a great War Babies track:

H&O have said this is the album they dislike most for some reason.

They are so insanely wrong.

Hall's hair is a marvel of blowdried freshness.

Man this really has an awesome B-side! Thanks for the tip. I love H&O but would never thought to check this album.

This period of their career defines "uneven" but there's stuff like this.

I'm a huge H&O fan, but is it odd my all-time favourite song of theirs is "Out of Touch?"

Yeah Abandoned Luncheonette only has like 3 songs I need. Listening to the self-titled (with glammo cover photo) right now though and it's pretty solid. I rly should venture out of the safety zone of their perfect self-produced phase.

xpost 'Out of Touch' is awesome! Love the gravity of the chords under the chorus.

xposting a bit. So the album that H&O hated wasn't "Bigger Than Both of Us." It was "Beauty on a Back Street." They're wrong about that as well. There are a bunch of tracks from it that are great, but this is the one that's just killing me lately. Comparisons? God, it's a 6 minute long mix of hard 70's rock and maybe Sparks on the chorus, and then this freaked out "I'm the doctor! I'm the doctor!" chant at the end. I've gone through back catalogs of an awful lot of 80s/90s bands, and can't think of one that has more interesting stuff lurking than H&O.
