I'm off until Monday now, so I look forward to seeing the venue as chosen by t'Committee.

Tim (Tim), Friday, 20 September 2002 11:51 (twenty-one years ago) link

sorry can't do it as I'm having time off (so the last thing to do would be to go to London, even if it is to mett you all). but from monday 30th I'm back so practically any weekday evening from then would be good.

anyway, have fun!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 20 September 2002 12:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm off too - but Tim H has kindly emailed me a contact phone number so if I don't get to the web I can still find all of you.

jon (jon), Friday, 20 September 2002 14:34 (twenty-one years ago) link

I say the WIndmill. What does everyone else say?

Pete (Pete), Friday, 20 September 2002 14:39 (twenty-one years ago) link

Hic!

Sarah (starry), Friday, 20 September 2002 14:41 (twenty-one years ago) link

I say let's settle on one, and I'm perfectly happy with The Windmill. I'll be there pretty early, but as the link says it is patronised by office workers and I will be in a suit and tie, it might not be ideal for Jon to try to spot me. There is a pic on my profile here, though, if that helps.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 20 September 2002 17:04 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm reviving this so we don't lose it. Are we all okay with the Windmill?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 21 September 2002 18:22 (twenty-one years ago) link

fine by me. Pic noted. some say 'can't do early', some say 'cant do late'. I guess even 'early' in London is not very early - is 6/6.30ish a good place to start?

jon (jon), Sunday, 22 September 2002 07:22 (twenty-one years ago) link

Looks like I might be on for his now. Late-ish doors for me 7.30/8.00 ish. Looking forward to it!!

Dr. C (Dr. C), Sunday, 22 September 2002 09:39 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'll be there around six, Jon.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 22 September 2002 11:09 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm possible a sevenish man. I have to introduce a screening of The Royal Tenebaums first. I shall be using the line "Mark S laughed non-stop and so di Dr Vick". Poor overseas students.

Pete (Pete), Sunday, 22 September 2002 12:54 (twenty-one years ago) link

I laughed lots too Pete, if you want to build a long list of people who liked it. And relatively new poster hereabouts Tim Bateman has a sister very like Margot! (Not adopted, however.)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 22 September 2002 13:52 (twenty-one years ago) link

larfed if u please

w.a nozzle

mark s (mark s), Sunday, 22 September 2002 22:37 (twenty-one years ago) link

I stand corrected. LArfed (what good thgis is going to do to the international students linguistic skillZor I know not but...)

Pete (Pete), Monday, 23 September 2002 08:10 (twenty-one years ago) link

Boss is not in today so I can escape in time for the full revelry I hope.

And my meeting tomorrow has been cancelled so I can have a hangover without fear.

Tom (Groke), Monday, 23 September 2002 08:45 (twenty-one years ago) link

so, is it the windmill then? i have decided i can make it, so i shall be there sometimes around 8.05

gareth (gareth), Monday, 23 September 2002 14:23 (twenty-one years ago) link

that's where i'm going

mark s (mark s), Monday, 23 September 2002 14:29 (twenty-one years ago) link

Dr. C (Dr. C), Monday, 23 September 2002 14:29 (twenty-one years ago) link

Tom (Groke), Monday, 23 September 2002 14:42 (twenty-one years ago) link

Vernon Jackson (kate), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 11:43 (seventeen years ago) link

There's some sticker swapping going on in soho too.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 11:50 (seventeen years ago) link

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 12:24 (seventeen years ago) link

Jon Cannon was a regular in the very early days of ILx and is much missed; I liked his posts very much indeed.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 12:31 (seventeen years ago) link

He's a very occasional LRB contributor, too: http://www.lrb.co.uk/contribhome.php?get=cann01

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 12:38 (seventeen years ago) link

Vernon Jackson (kate), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 13:00 (seventeen years ago) link

emsk ( emsk), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 15:21 (seventeen years ago) link

A little after 7, I think.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 15:22 (seventeen years ago) link

Yeah, I should get out of work by 6.30 so between then and 7 sometime - it's only 5 minutes away.

I'd be up for a FAP! Old school Glasshouse Stores style of course, with bar billiards. Would anyone else?

Dr.C, Thursday, 26 February 2009 16:25 (fifteen years ago) link

Too skint, too unemployed, too LENT AND NOT DRINKING RIGHT NOW!!!

Sneaky Sneaky Prog Friend (Masonic Boom), Thursday, 26 February 2009 16:26 (fifteen years ago) link

I'd be up for that. I'd especially relish the bar billiards.

bitch hooligan, pussy ass nobrain dårk (country matters), Thursday, 26 February 2009 16:30 (fifteen years ago) link

I work about 100 metres from GHS so that works for me.

Hell no, I haven't been doing that since last June. I'm out of touch too - are you settled in Fulham yet?

Dr.C, Thursday, 26 February 2009 16:44 (fifteen years ago) link

Oh yes - Lena came over just before Christmas and we're both blissfully happy in SW6!

Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Thursday, 12 December 2019 21:01 (four years ago) link

Daniel_Rf, Thursday, 12 December 2019 23:42 (four years ago) link

Black Eye Friday

koogs, Friday, 20 December 2019 13:27 (four years ago) link

if it's just me and thee, comrade, then i'd suggest Herne Hill, as it's likely to be a bit quieter. i've got a final meeting now, which I'm going to do down the pub, and then i'll be winging my way central/Herne Hill-wards, for about four.

Fizzles, Friday, 20 December 2019 13:42 (four years ago) link

👍

xyzzzz__, Friday, 20 December 2019 13:48 (four years ago) link

the pinefox, Friday, 20 December 2019 14:06 (four years ago) link

oh not really, i just fancied an early doors post work pre christmas pint and was angling to see who was around! i don’t want to be out all evening, especially after the christmas party last night. i feel slightly dire.

Tim, Thursday, 6 February 2020 13:11 (four years ago) link

i'm aiming for 6ish also, newfangled absence of a direct bus permitting >:(

mark s, Thursday, 6 February 2020 16:11 (four years ago) link

We're doing a little launch for the Mary Butts book I've done (and which some of you have seen) - it's a week today, Thursday 27th at the bookartsbookshop from 6.30 to 8 or so, likely pub after. It'd be lovely to see all or any of you.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8szLA8nXGV/

Details of the project: https://thehalfpintpress.wordpress.com/imaginary-letters-by-mary-butts/ - this will be on show in the windows of the bookshop for most of March if you're passing and want a look.

Tim, Thursday, 20 February 2020 09:35 (four years ago) link

Bah, I think I'm booked on the day, but I pass by it all the time next to the Kieran Doherty mural on my way home, so I'll be sure to come by.
