Awesome idea for a thread. For starters I think you definitely need
- All Maurizio- All Basic Channel- All Chain Reaction- All Vladislav Delay for the experimental- Rhythm & Sound: See Mi Yah, With The Artists, Rhythm & Sound, See Mi Yah Remixes for the Jamaican - Pole 1,2,3
I don't think Morphosis, Function or Sandwell District belong here as they are more specifically techno?
This music has a weird thing about it in that it can often seem very uniform and even sterile but then there might be the slightest change inside of the all familiar pattern and it suddenly becomes music of the Gods. I think it's interesting that people all over the Internet accuse it of being boring and redundant.
There is also a forum on discogshttp://www.discogs.com/group/89

morphosis is not dub at all.
sandwell district has dubby elements just like a lot of the marcel dettman/ben klock/berghain type of stuff

Wolves, thanks; I've already got all those... Although I would love to get my hands on the full-length Maurizio tracks on vinyl. I just have the metal-box CD from years back. Rhythm & Sound's s/t and With the Artists are just incredible. Morphosis is pretty hard to categorize, I think.

I've been listening to Deepchord's Hash-bar loops a bit recently, while working. It's nice background music. I don't think I will ever be as bowled over by dub techno as I was ten or so years ago but it's still nice.

Fluxion has a nice new EP with two Deepchord remixes of their track Multidirectional. It sounds like what the math suggests it would :)

Been going through a lot of this lately and I have to say I just don't know if I can be convinced that anybody ever did this better than Basic Channel, Maurizio, and Rhythm & Sound.

listening to the Luke Hess 'Light in the Dark' LP and it's a lot more sleak and sort of sexy than I remember it being.
