MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T BE LIVING HERE!! (Local Garda), Sunday, 17 July 2011 17:08 (twelve years ago) link

kudos to Clarke and LG, thought this was a pretty good tournament tho wd've liked a tighter finish i guess.

dave lool (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 17 July 2011 17:49 (twelve years ago) link

yeah, clarke was unflappable- but i'm disappointed Phil crumbled on the last stretch. good job by clarke calling out the cup and his plans in store for it tonight

brownie, Sunday, 17 July 2011 19:28 (twelve years ago) link

This was awesome. And then Japan won the women's football (but only because Norn Iron were not represented)

R. Stornoway (Tom D.), Monday, 18 July 2011 10:35 (twelve years ago) link

i really dont want stricker to win this thing. boring.

I do!!

frogbs, Thursday, 11 August 2011 21:10 (twelve years ago) link

But only because he's from Wisconsin and seems to be a nice guy. I'm not sure on what other grounds you're supposed to root for a golfer unless they're related to you or something.

frogbs, Thursday, 11 August 2011 21:11 (twelve years ago) link

kinda blows my mind that they would use katy perry as bumper music

johnny crunch, Thursday, 11 August 2011 22:05 (twelve years ago) link

if ur in the rough or bunkers this course is murder

johnny crunch, Friday, 12 August 2011 20:56 (twelve years ago) link

golfing tomorrow

stoked for the madness

nh (cozen), Friday, 12 August 2011 21:08 (twelve years ago) link

good luck. played 7 good holes today then ran into the back of an utterly clueless 4 ball that didn't want to let me play through. gave up, walked in.

pandemic, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:10 (twelve years ago) link

i played at atlanta athletic one time! my sister and her husband are members

there's a plaque on the 18th fairway where Weiskopf hit his 2 iron to win the tournament (US Open?)

also, there's a little Bobby Jones museum there- pretty cool

brownie, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:12 (twelve years ago) link

apparently the members have to volunteer for this event- my bro in law will be holding up a "quiet" sign on the 17th tee tomorrow

brownie, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:14 (twelve years ago) link

cool, if i was a member there my handicap would be triple what it is. seems tough.

pandemic, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:15 (twelve years ago) link

there was a segment abt how the members really never play this course

johnny crunch, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:16 (twelve years ago) link

i played over christmas time- the rough was nothing as the grass was in hibernation at the time

we were the only ones on the course

brownie, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:17 (twelve years ago) link

lol xpost

brownie, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:17 (twelve years ago) link

oh right. i'm old school, a par 5 is anything over 475 yards. none of this 512yard par 4 insanity!

pandemic, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:17 (twelve years ago) link

yeah, a 260 yard par three is also beyond me

brownie, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:19 (twelve years ago) link

last wk in akron there was a par-5 of 667

johnny crunch, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:20 (twelve years ago) link

madness

brownie, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:22 (twelve years ago) link

yeah 512 yd par 4, 260 yd par 3 is just stupid

at those prices, anything under 200 yds should be a par 2

nh (cozen), Friday, 12 August 2011 21:22 (twelve years ago) link

I'm gonna play golf tomorrow!

jel --, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:26 (twelve years ago) link

Well, pitch and putt in the park...

jel --, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:26 (twelve years ago) link

Then Nando's for lunch.

jel --, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:26 (twelve years ago) link

it's weird how the PGA brings Davis Love out of the woodwork

brownie, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:29 (twelve years ago) link

davis love played pretty well tee->green at the us open and open iirc. his putting sucks tho.

pandemic, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:57 (twelve years ago) link

oops the plaque on the 18th was for Jerry Pate's 5 iron shot

time to open another beer

brownie, Friday, 12 August 2011 21:58 (twelve years ago) link

work's golf outing in a month's time. not sure whether to sandbag on handicap

nh (cozen), Friday, 12 August 2011 22:01 (twelve years ago) link

omg sandbaggers are disgusting savages etc

brownie, Friday, 12 August 2011 22:03 (twelve years ago) link

USPGA has destroyed Woods: first Y.E.Yang was the beginning of the end, now missing the cut..

Can you tell your bro in law to jam his "quiet" sign in the throat of anyone who yells "get in the hole!" please?

will do

and bubba watson reached it in two!

tine nic (k3vin k.), Saturday, 13 August 2011 16:30 (twelve years ago) link

I played a course once -- Fall River Valley? can't remember -- that had a 650-yd par 5...the tee shot was off a cliff, basically. The cart ride down to the fairway was a lot more intimidating than the shot.

these gout commercials with the dude carrying around a giant beaker of uric acid have to go

brownie, Saturday, 13 August 2011 16:41 (twelve years ago) link

johnny crunch, Saturday, 13 August 2011 16:46 (twelve years ago) link

i like the fact dufner doesn't show emotion. Ice cold. David Toms freaks me out cos whenever i see him i think Edward Norton has become a pro golfer.

pandemic, Sunday, 14 August 2011 21:43 (twelve years ago) link

dufner has too much the southern frat boy look 2 be able 2 root for
