I'm in - just did the shiny thing quest. Called myself 'Cindy Electronium' as I was thinking about Raymond Scott at the time, though I'm not so keen on that name now.

loving the whole skills thing. it reminds me of an old MOO-type game called Avalon where you had to learn all these different skills and they all had different proficiency levels

i don't know how you guys are completing this miniaturization thing. whenever i go i just walk around and there's nothing to interact with. just a sleeping cat to climb on top of, a shoe, and a table.

what skill sets are you guys pursuing? i did the first two learning skills and am working on all the basic cooking stuff (saucery at the moment)

I think it was Gregarious Grange in Groddle Meadow. I'm having trouble finding any weedy patches to hoe for my achievement.

get some papers. really, the skills you choose determine what you're doing in the game. each skill creates a new quest to fulfill, and the further down the skillline you get, the more complicated/complex the quests.

on a related note: Mordy's Pot Brownies + Eggs Restaurant will soon be open for business. I'm pretty sure I decided to become a cook entirely because of the name of the giant associated with it.

so this game is really fun but i can't imagine i'll be willing to hunt down a 100 eggs to make the recipe to finish the quest for Master Chef I ever again.

as you level up your skills, your efficiency collecting levels up as well. i harvest 12 eggs each turn, atm

So can you level every skill or are you at some point "committed" to a given profession a la wow

you can level up every skill as far as i know but at some point it becomes impractical, and your time is better spent in the pursuit of one or another, i.e. alchemy or making crudites or tending your wanton flock of porcine wonders, all of whom are named Chad.

So, how much of a timesuck is this? I don't have much free time or (probably) the willpower not to spend time which shouldn't be free on it if I sign up, but it sounds pretty intriguing.

remy, what did you mean about it not being worth it to try to get all the skills? Presumably by the time you're level 40 you've clocked enough hours to learn everything, no?

I haven't decided what to do with my character at all yet, so I'm just learning bits of everything and still wandering about cuddling pigs constantly. But the time to learn skills doesn't seem too daunting yet. I think I just don't want to go the easy path and learn the farming skills as I'm afraid I'll just end up playing an advanced version of Farmville if I do that.

Also, I noticed that there's a group feature - does anyone fancy setting up an ilx0r group and playing about with that? Or, if someone already has, inviting me to it too?
