don't really get the buzz with "everybody", like...it's just not very good. i mean, i like a lot of the music that is associated with these guys, except not them. i mean, it's called "everybody" and the hook is someone singing "everybody" but the music doesn't really reach the standard you'd expect given those promising signs. it just sort of falls between too many poles for me, not quite french house, not quite trance.

I saw one remix of Walk & Talk in YouTube but that's it iirc: any official remixes?

i mean full grown man is straight up peter gabriel though, i would have said peter gabriel.

I think "Sade-house movement" (though a nice coinage) perhaps doesn't capture the "movement" as such, only isolated examples of it.

ugh "everybody" is so shit and such vapid polar french house, i seldom am moved to criticise but it's really not fun. it's like "take me with you" minus all the joyous hysteria.

yeah a lot of deep house in general could qualify for "Sade house", really

Saw these guys play last month at Voltt Loves Summer in Amsterdam. I have to admit I was a little disappointed and left their set early to drink cocktails and watch Scuba. They didn't seem to know how to create a sense of live dynamics, drama or momentum, came across as anti-climatic and flat. Probably didn't help that they came on after Actress, and were so early in the day. Then again, maybe people have had other experiences seeing them play out?

Yeah, really beautiful, can't stop listening to it. On a side note, from the Metronomy remix record, 'Loving Arm (Soul Clap's Shake A Leg Mix)' is also pretty great.

iirc all the old-school Aeroplane remixes are Vito playing new parts and keeping the vocals - ARS are on the original track.

iirc, Au Revoire Simone's vocals were mixed out of the original "Paris"?

If they're there, they're only doing "ahs" or something

yeah I mean they're barely audible as backing vocals in the chorus, but their whole parts were there on the multitrack for Vito to discover and use

Many of the rest of us have been awaiting that album for a decade, so when expectation is building on the back of “Walk and Talk,” “Boy Trouble,” “Adjustments,” etc …

“Lost Decade,” the title track, is my sole keeper from this record, and it isn’t close to my favorites of theirs overall

Just surprising then that there wasn't a discussion. Though I remember seeing a disappointed comment somewhere that isn't here. Still!

“Principles” still completely blows me away. Do people not care about that one for some reason?

I hadn’t been aware of “Principles” somehow. It’s pretty good!

“Principles” is great, though I do think they peaked early where with “Full Grown Man” and “What I’ve Lost”.
