nah i can't see it, if he stays he'll get out there on the pitch and play and it'll blow over.

i'd have had sympathy with him, relatively anyway, before he opened his mouth on fri night.

good article about the lovable tyke in goal.com- why is luka modric so highly rated when lampard scores more and fabregas has more assists, they conclude that it's because he's good at other stuff.

The Modric rumour seems to be stemming from "TransferUpdate" on Twitter, who seems a tad suspect to say the least

That looks like Redknapp and Levy are at loggerheads to me. Redknapp presumably frustrated at Levy's refusal to part without any cash without having first sold the deadwood he's put a prohibitive price tag on, when one player at a stroke could make £35m-£40m.

But at the same time we don't know who he's targeting, whether they'll come to Spurs, whether they'll actually improve the team (as opposed to replacing Kranjcars with Pienaars and making no net improvement whatsoever), and whether we'll end up with a hole in the squad and a load of unspent or wasted money at the end.

Personally I think he's trying to con Levy into getting his chequebook out. Doubt Harry likes spending an entire summer sitting around not being able to make signings.

It's the sort of thing that could end 'redknapp out' to me - not only undermining the public line, but shifting blame for underperformance onto Levy. The only benefit (assuming as I do that you can't possibly be better off shorn of Modric) is in getting Modric onside personally if he needs it, but even that's got a huge backhanded insult in there.

Redknapp has not really spent particularly well over his time at Spurs actually. Dunno if successful moves for Samba, Benayoun and Kalou and a failed bid for Eden Hazard will make much net improvement really.

Blimey I got something right for once.

For as long as this guy can walk, he can have a spot in my midfield.

Up there with Berbatov and VdV as the most persistently joyous players to give the ball to in my footballing memory (Spurs edition) and it seems impossible that he's still somehow putting in performances like he did tonight
