xxpost

Yeah, maybe most expressions of height as a dealbreaker I've heard were just ways of circumventing the fact that they just didn't want to date me.

Being a short girl sux when tall girls don't see you and step all over you when you are trying to feel pretty.

*tera, Saturday, 18 June 2011 21:58 (twelve years ago) link

i am 5'10". i used to feel pretty tall until i moved to ~europe~, where it feels like even old ladies are taller than me.

max you are not average height.

caek, Saturday, 18 June 2011 22:00 (twelve years ago) link

I think Max is tall. I picture him tall anyway.

Ha. Missed this. Yeah, it exaggerates the effect somewhat when I'm standing next to the person who is, by far, my tallest friend, if not the tallest person I know.

hoos, when I was younger I dreamed of being a short, curly-haired hispanic adult (not my most realistic dream). I just thought it would be baller & I would charm girls all day or something. I was a short kid but idk where that one came from really, but I still think there is a distinct kind of short-swag some guys have, which I appreciate, even tho I am no longer short.

I'm trying to think if I'd been impressed by a particular short spanish guy w/ a fine head of curls at any point but I can't think of anyone

\(^o\) (/o^)/ (ENBB), Saturday, 18 June 2011 22:34 (twelve years ago) link

being tall messed my posture up. slouching to hear/talk to people, desks and chairs are too short, etc. fair trade off, though, imo.

was not familiar w/ mr pajo in my childhood but he totally has short swag

it would be a disaster if he was tall.

one time i was on the same plane as the umass basketball team and their center literally could not fully sit down in his seat, they ended up moving him to 1st class but they couldnt do it for some reason until after takeoff so he was kind of half crouched all squeezed into this lil seat, it was kind of lol but mostly sad

ice cr?m, Saturday, 18 June 2011 22:57 (twelve years ago) link

yeah but then he got to fly first class just cause he was tall

iatee, Saturday, 18 June 2011 22:58 (twelve years ago) link

I can't afford first class, but I always get United's Economy Plus. That extra 5" makes a huge difference.

ugh, the Economy Plus -- I wound up ponying up the extra cash for that for the same reason.

like seriously I sometimes pick movie theatres to see movies at based on my knowledge of the layout and the legroom :/

when i was like 14~15 my best friend who was v short was a subject of this documentary abt being a short male http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%26M_Short_and_Male & one of the shoots was me & some other friends hanging out with him goofin around teasing him abt being short, we also beatboxed & wrote a rap about how its cool to be short & that they filmed. at some pt after that while he was doing talking head shots/interviews he got really embarassed bc it was going to be on national tv and told them he thought the whole thing was lame & wished he had never gotten involved, i think in the end they left him out entirely

flopson, Sunday, 19 June 2011 02:20 (twelve years ago) link

I like your short story, flopson.

estela, Sunday, 19 June 2011 03:18 (twelve years ago) link

it seems weird to do a documentary about the hardships of being short & include someone that is 14 YEARS OLD
