Limbaugh also referred to the 2008 presidential candidate as the "magic negro" several times during his radio broadcast, each time prefacing the reference by explaining that the title came from Ehrenstein and/or the LA Times.

i.e. "I can say it because a black person said it too."

what's up with the germans and team dresch? christoph de babalon did a remix of one of their songs back in the 90s, which was wtf enough.

more wiki tocotronic fun:

The band became a subject of dark irony when in 1995 they released the song "Michael Ende, Du hast mein Leben zerstört"' (Michael Ende, you destroyed my life) -- on its surface, a hate song against the writer of the popular book Neverending Story -- only a couple of months before Ende died.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat_intelligence

Because of their sensitive sense of smell, cats prefer going outside to urinate and defecate. Kittens need no training to use a litter box and cover up their waste; once they understand where the litter box is they will seek it out from then on. Cats can be trained to make use of a toilet.[23] Some cats learn on their own, while others are taught by owners and possibly even from their mothers as young kittens. In general, however, a toilet-trained cat is a rare animal, and successful toilet training of cats depends both on the willingness of the animal to learn a rather awkward manuever and on the patience of the owner teach it one.

As a point of general interest, a course on cat toilet training can be found on a website devoted to legendary jazz bassist Charles Mingus. It is entitled "The Charles Mingus Cat Toilet Training Program," and appears to have been written sometime in the 1960s by the bassist himself.[24]

Alongside Fluxblog Balaban also writes, more prolifically, for URGE and Asap. Criticism

Some have argued that the title suggests that those not in the program are not "Talented and Gifted." Whether or not this is a valid criticism is debatable, as it hinges on whether those outside such programs are, in fact, gifted and talented. (I.e. if they are not -- a possibility -- then the program title is only more apt, not less.)

Fluxblog is an album by Shed Seven created and updated by Rick Witter. The album began in 2002 and began to deliver a winning brand of Britpop and good old fashioned indie rock at the end of that year. Two songs about drinking to forget your ex-girlfriend are commonly posted every weekday along with picures of Rick Witter's face, links to Shed Seven websites and links to places where you can dance to "Dolphin" in private. Alongside Shed Seven, Rick Witter also makes albums for Ultra Nate and Ten Pole Tudor.

Being one of the first popular Shed Seven albums, Fluxblog has featured in many publications and programs in the mainstream media, including The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Spin, The Guardian, NPR, Entertainment Weekly, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, and Shed: The Official Shed Seven Fanzine.

As the show's theme song suggests, Will was born and raised in West Philadelphia. He spent most of his time chilling, relaxing, or playing basketball on the playground outside of the school. One day, a couple of guys, including a kid named Omar, visited the basketball court where Will played. These guys were up to no good, as they were just beginning to make trouble in Will's neighborhood. When an errant basketball shot ricocheted off the rim and onto Omar's head, this prompted Omar and his entourage to literally lift and spin Will over his head in retaliation. Because of this one little fight, Will's mother got scared, and she told Will that he would be moving to his aunt and uncle's house in Bel-Air, California. Will pleaded with his mom to stay, but she insisted on sending him out West, although Will at least got to fly first class on his trip, and he got to drink orange juice out of a champagne glass. When he arrived in California, he hailed a cab, and the one that stopped for him had a vanity plate that said "FRESH". Inside, the cab had dice hanging from the rear-view mirror. At first, Will thought that it was rare for a cab to have such features, but then he brushed that thought aside and told the cabbie to take him home, to Bel-Air. The cab pulled up to the Banks' home around 7 or 8 o'clock in the evening of Will's arrival, at which time Will was glad to finally get out of the cab. After paying the driver, Will said to the cabbie, "Smell you later!" As Will looked at the mansion where he would now be living, he knew that he had finally arrived in his "kingdom," to sit on the throne as the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.[2][3]
