Bugging me about Dum Dum Girls cover: small piece of leg in the "T" in "GETS" means that on a cursory glance, the record appears to be titled HE GET'S ME HIGH

That's like an Arcadian analogue to the last Efterklang:

IT SHOULD REALLY GO WITHOUT SAYING THAT IF A PIECE OF ALBUM ART DOES NOT INCORPORATE THE ARTIST AND ALBUM'S NAME, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY POST THAT ALONG WITH THE IMAGE
JUST SAYING

Not a fan of the Coathangers cover, but the 7" (done by the same artist, Jason Travis) is way better:

Carnivores "German Flower" single

Carnivores one designed by drummer Ross Politi, who has awesome graphic design skills.

Er....oops, that the "Chandalier" one. Don't know if he did that, but probably...

That Sweater Weather cover reminds me of the Implodes one upthread... sans saturation plus laughably hip fading.

Not enough pheasants on album sleeves imo.

I think I like that

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 4 June 2011 16:51 (twelve years ago) link

I know the image is big, but it doesn't read very well at a smaller size. If you check out an even larger picture (like here, for instance) you get to see the awesomely cheesy details.

Woah, La Big Vic's a must hear based on art work alone, even if I totally misread that as "Argyle" at first.

Spectrist, Monday, 6 June 2011 19:45 (twelve years ago) link

Listening to the La Big Vic album right now. It's a bit wispy, but really really nice.

"Featuring Rob Thomas" is definitely the most appalling thing about that cover.

jer.fairall, Friday, 10 June 2011 22:56 (twelve years ago) link

This faux illuminati symbolism with triangles on the album cover bullshit must stop. Just be done with it already.

van smack, Saturday, 11 June 2011 04:40 (twelve years ago) link

What is that even in reference to?
