Spelling out single-figure numbers is a pretty common house style thing.

Re: Robbie Keane, can see him, and a load of other players, just going out on season-long loans and not coming back.

Spelling out single-figure numbers is a pretty common house style thing.

I think it looks odd in the context of a list where all the other numbers are expressed in numeric characters and I would break with the house style in this instance.

I think Spurs will sell Keane to anyone coming up with £4-5m - there must be a couple of lower half or newly promoted teams willing to take a punt.

that was the announcement at the time, but it doesn't seem to get mentioned now. also i think it was only for players who came through inter's youth system, which leandro didn't. he apparently owns some of his rights himself, too. two other big prospects, walter and giuliano, have left inter since spurs signed sandro, so not sure.

also the official statement on tottenham's website doesn't specifically say the club has first refusal

These third-party owners, I don't get it.

Hulk (he of the supposed 100m release clause) was up until a week ago primarily owned by a Uruguayan club for whom he'd never played a game. Porto had paid 6m initially to bring him over from a Japanese side, I think, but had to raise their total investment to 18-19m in order to get ~85 percent of his total rights. Whether they did that in anticipation of his eventual big sale, or just to keep him from being sold against their will before their Champions League run, I don't know.

Sort of think that much of Crouch's poor performance this season has been him being asked to play as a lone striker, for which he's manifestly unsuited despite his height. If we were playing him behind a peak form Defoe, or someone better, I'd have fewer complaints. But that's where VDV sits, and he's usually better at that role even on an off-day.
