er, even i am thinking that tiefschwarz tomorrow might not happen. has anyone actually been to Issst yet?

pete b. (pete b.), Friday, 11 March 2005 13:05 (nineteen years ago) link

charlton, you should come to the optimo our disco on the 18th and drink tequila with me.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 11 March 2005 14:06 (nineteen years ago) link

Seeing RX that close to the big day is v. appealing.

"Us", lauren, "us". Gareth, be my chaperone.

BARMS, Friday, 11 March 2005 14:27 (nineteen years ago) link

ok, i think i'll come to that. if i get back into london in time, which shouldnt be a problem

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 11 March 2005 15:21 (nineteen years ago) link

plastic people was where charltonlido and i drank tequila together for the first time. his blink 182 appreciation can be traced back to that night.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 11 March 2005 15:48 (nineteen years ago) link

i look forward, to the dancing

Sven Bastard (blueski), Friday, 11 March 2005 15:55 (nineteen years ago) link

Lauren - turning alcoholics to Blink 182 since 2000.

BARMS, Friday, 11 March 2005 16:06 (nineteen years ago) link

I am officially going to knock Tiefschwarz on the head now and concentrate on next Friday, I think.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 11 March 2005 16:10 (nineteen years ago) link

Next Friday sounds like a good plan for me, too.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 11 March 2005 16:12 (nineteen years ago) link

Tiefschwarz new single will be renamed 'Disst' at this rate

Sven Bastard (blueski), Friday, 11 March 2005 16:16 (nineteen years ago) link

BARMS from 19/03/05, Friday, 11 March 2005 16:19 (nineteen years ago) link

Dude, my flatmate actually dances like that!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 11 March 2005 16:21 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah, and he's still paying off my therapy bills over it.

BARMS, Friday, 11 March 2005 16:28 (nineteen years ago) link

your flatmate, if you're talking about who i think you're talking about, does waaay more than that

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 11 March 2005 16:45 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah, he'd make Reggie Yates-doing-'U Can't Touch This' look like he was standing still.

BARMS, Friday, 11 March 2005 16:48 (nineteen years ago) link

Gorblimey FIGHTSTAR are playing at the Academy tonight. I'm going to be DJing to Charlie!

In the unlikely event he wants to stick around listening to indie rub

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 11 March 2005 18:11 (nineteen years ago) link

To complicate this coming weekend, just seen there's a Bugged Out at The End Saturday 19th March with Miss Kitten, Erol Alkan, Mu, Ben Fat Trucker / Druzzi's, Nathan Gregory Wilkins, Serge Santiago, Alex Smoke, Chris Blue, RAF Daddy, Lil Lucy & Alice Fine.

No idea who the last 3 are, but the rest of the bill's ace. Dunno how I'm going to fit it in with Optimo, recovery and moving house all in 48 hours though...

MattR (MattR), Monday, 14 March 2005 17:46 (nineteen years ago) link

friday is very important, for...us all

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 19:31 (nineteen years ago) link

looking forward to it lots.

there is just too much going on in London tho - i miss so many things where i think 'well you could've gone to that and because you didn't U R A LOOZA'

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 11:21 (nineteen years ago) link

i wish parties would be a bit more adventurous, though obviously i can't complain about the quality. but still, it's like there's an identikit: pick one from column a (miss kittin, tiefschwarz, ivan smagghe), one from column b (trevor jackson, erol alkan, jojo defreq, nathan wilkins), and one from column c (riton, pablo psychonaut, 2manydjs, maurice fulton).

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 12:05 (nineteen years ago) link

I think they should have Drew Daniel in one of his old gogo-thongs in all 3 columns. Also, London defines identikit DJs!

Steve, I wore a t-shirt to Vitalic. Stay off the talking E's.

BARMS, Wednesday, 16 March 2005 12:07 (nineteen years ago) link

Erol, Nathan Gregory Wilkins & Chris Blue are all Bugged Out London residents though, so it's not a surprise they're on the bill really? Though I find it a bit odd that Miss Kitten is playing again, she was only in town like 2 weeks ago surely?

For those heading to Our Disco friday, it'd be a very very very good idea to be queueing by 11pm. Queue's for Optimo can be a wee bit hectic there, even though the doors won't open till 11ish, it'll sell out easy with the crowd who're there then.

MattR (MattR), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 12:19 (nineteen years ago) link

lauren is probably otm but it's funny to read all the same. I guess I'd probably find it annoying too, in London.

In Dublin there are never nights with more than one act on. But then, tonight that act is Black Strobe, at our club, so not so bad.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 12:24 (nineteen years ago) link

queues.. pah.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 12:25 (nineteen years ago) link

Showoff.

What's upcoming?

BARMS, Wednesday, 23 March 2005 10:26 (nineteen years ago) link

apart from Poptimism/Annie tomorrow? and grime in Stratford on April 2? if anything's going on this weekend I'm going to try to avoid hearing about it as I might have to go home :(

(btw Barima - are you Housewiving chez Cis tonight?)

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 10:31 (nineteen years ago) link

we should do a decent URBAN night around Apr 8/9?

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 10:52 (nineteen years ago) link

Oh for god's sake no. That's the weekend of my birthday. I intend to have a River Lee or Lea walk on the 10th and I need people in good, un-ruined shape.

Masonic Cathedral (kate), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 10:57 (nineteen years ago) link

I'm going to the Lady Sovereign thing on Thursday.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 11:11 (nineteen years ago) link

i will wish i was there when 'I Wanna Sex You Up' is played at Poptimism

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 11:17 (nineteen years ago) link

I do want to join you, Suzzzzzy, but Poptimism?

(btw Barima - are you Housewiving chez Cis tonight?)

I have a (rescheduled) job interview after work, so it'll depend on how knackered I am (I'm always tired, like in Fight Club).

BARMS, Wednesday, 23 March 2005 11:20 (nineteen years ago) link

lets talk about weekends in april.

charltonlido (gareth), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 11:39 (nineteen years ago) link

Barima, unless your job interview finishes at 21.55, you have no excuse to come and enjoy the total rockingness that is our housewives partays.

Get Physical on the 16th, innit?

RickyT (RickyT), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 13:27 (nineteen years ago) link

Lex, and other people: NANCY SINATRA LONDON MAY

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Friday, 25 March 2005 04:30 (nineteen years ago) link

Greg the Nancy Sinatra date is the DAY AFTER VITALIC. I am in distressed shock.

Maybe, if it has not sold out and we are feeling OK the next day, we can traipse over to Shepherds Bush and buy tickets on the door. But it's going to sell out, innit... and I'm not risking buying in advance :(

Ellen Allien is playing The Poke on the 22nd. I am considering it.

In other events, who's up for Get Physical on the 16th?

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 22:58 (nineteen years ago) link

Oh crud, I've done nothing about the get Physical yet. I'm still up for it at the mo.

Meantime, I want cheapness all next week, in order to stretch my money further. And I want to be drunk and wake up in strange bedrooms with no idea how I got there.

Deerninja B4rim4, Plus-Tech Whizz Kid (Barima), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 23:28 (nineteen years ago) link

We Are All Full Of Kate (kate), Thursday, 7 April 2005 07:50 (nineteen years ago) link

It's your last chance to catch Tiefschwarz at The Key in Kings X this Saturday. As far as I know anyway - they'd only booked 3 nights in the place last I heard.

Drama Society playing as well, plus some blokes from Phonica.

MattR (MattR), Thursday, 7 April 2005 18:50 (nineteen years ago) link

I think it might be sold out ALREADY :(

it is probably for the best. i won't have drunk since marianna's birthday => vitalic is gonna KILL ME DEAD, plus finals start two weeks after! eek

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Thursday, 7 April 2005 19:56 (nineteen years ago) link

Oh fuck, I can't make this Saturday. I'd kind of presumed they'd be playing every month.

Ah well, they'll play again.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 7 April 2005 21:04 (nineteen years ago) link

bump, for the 22nd/23rd, whats happening people?

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 14 April 2005 19:25 (nineteen years ago) link

Amyl makes a brief, unpopular comeback after I decide to end it all on the dancefloor with a flick of my lighter.

Plus-Tech Whiz Kid (Disco) (Barima), Thursday, 14 April 2005 20:11 (nineteen years ago) link
