Those are actually cars that have double parked near Jesse. And Jesse doesn't even HAVE a car!!!
― Jenny, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 19:48 (sixteen years ago) link
Haha, that's too funny to be mad at.

This link is mostly for Nick but it is an interesting discussion about the gear used to record the latest National album:

if you're driving in the city, isn't it pretty much a given when you're doing public parking that you'll get a little ding once in a while? the odds are even more if you park like an asshole. xp not that bad!
i've only double parked once, blocking the person who was in the handicapped space without a permit so i could run in and out of blockbuster. i didn't feel too bad about it.
bahaha about your coworker's boobs. that's just...odd.
― JuliaA, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 19:49 (sixteen years ago) link
My poor car has so, so, so many dings and dents from people hitting it while parallel parking. I've had both tailights knocked out at one point or another.

Holy shit, massive storm rolling through here. Tons of wind, lots of lightning.
― jon /via/ chi 2.0, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 19:51 (sixteen years ago) link
Yeah, when we sold our car it was looking rough, and it was just five or six years old.
ooo storm!
― Jenny, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 19:52 (sixteen years ago) link
Yeah, my back bumper is so scraped up, it's ridiculous. I mean, half of the damage is probably my fault, but Julia's right: that's sort of what I expect when I live and drive in Chicago.

jesse what's wrong with your flickr? It looks fine to me.

It's pretty bad here, I can't see across Lake Cook through the driving rain.

Baked potato... yes. I like the sound of that. Thanks, Kenan.
― Jenny, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 20:06 (sixteen years ago) link
you should put hot salt on that potato
― La Lechera, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 20:08 (sixteen years ago) link
my car is 10 years old and still looks pretty snazzy, but i guess that's what sitting in a garage while i live in london for 6 of those years will do for it.
― colette, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 20:14 (sixteen years ago) link
i'm watching dawsons, and it's the episode where pacey is horrible at the prom which i remember being really sad and am wondering if i can even watch it.
do not hot salt your car it will cause damages
― La Lechera, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 20:14 (sixteen years ago) link
so can anybody come out tonight or was that too short notice? jenny, i know you wanted to hang out again with the good doctor!
― stingy, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 20:15 (sixteen years ago) link
What did Pacey do? I only really watched the first two seasons of that show religiously.
― jaymc, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 20:17 (sixteen years ago) link
i have to work til 7 and then try to push a full dumpster back to its rightful spot (by the fence, not in the backyard) because some boneheaded neighbor of mine decided to move it so s/he could have more room for the SUV.
note: living in a condo with awful neighbors is like having horrible, negligent roommates who never ever move out. i can't say any more because of PENDING LITIGATION.
― La Lechera, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 20:18 (sixteen years ago) link
i keep forgetting to eat a proper meal today.
― JuliaA, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 20:20 (sixteen years ago) link
If I were A, I would use my POS car to push the dumpster so it parks in the SUV. Then I would go have a beer. QED
― dan m, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 20:21 (sixteen years ago) link
but then i would have to drive into the backyard what i really want to do is make the people who moved it in the first place push it back, but they seem to think they didn't do anything wrong.
dawson's creek reminds me of living in wilmington.
one time pacey's giant dog tried to rape my cocker spaniel.

Stingy, it's a bit late, notice-wise, although it's true that I want to hang with the good doc again.
― Jenny, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 20:27 (sixteen years ago) link
if i remember correctly, he basically picks a fight with joey and maybe even dumps her because he's flunking out and insecure. he may even try to hook up with another girl. all this while they are trapped on a boat.
this is why social events on moving boats are BAD.
― colette, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 20:27 (sixteen years ago) link
i would block in the suv then fill said dumpster with several 80lb bags of sackcrete then take a garden hose to it. trying to get that thing to move after the concrete sets would be a sisyphusian endeavor.
― chicago kevin, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 20:29 (sixteen years ago) link
Yeah, dumping the garbage in the spot would be a GREAT idea. Honestly, what I see happening is me going door-to-door asking for help push/pulling a giant, heavy dumpster back to its rightful home. And maybe taking pictures so people NEVER FORGET 9/25/07.
xp - He's insecure because his dog is an attempted rapist.

Thanks for the National link, dan. I have trouble following discussions about recording gear but the drum sound on that record is great, and those dudes have some sweet sweet guitars.
