I have the CD; liner notes are a good read (life story + a bunch of archive pictures)...the 4.72" vinyl thing is cool to have but I haven't played it.

It's a fantastic album, if any passer-by readers are curious.

Numero had a lot of its releases up on bandcamp a few months ago. So it was possible to listen to this through.

Seems like it sounds like it's from about 5 years earlier than its release. Really feels early 70s soul rather than disco era. A bit bill withers esque.
Love it. Comes with a 5inch single which is also on the cd.

feels very 70s sould indeed, a touch of Astral Weeks

so much personality in the songwriting and singing

Great album. Could hear Bill Callahan covering "Son, Don't Let Your Life Pass You By." "I'm So Happy Now" would be a perfect song if it was about a minute and a half shorter. One of my favorite Numero releases. Don't even own it because iirc it's out of print

funny this just got revived. i was interested in it after somebody (sorry; forgot who) posted about it on the "what are you listening to 2019" thread. was having some holiday blues on thanksgiving and amoeba was having 20% off and, after checking the tracking not even ten minutes ago, i have a package waiting for me when i get home. will report back.

initial thoughts:

yeah, this is the jam. very much akin to terry callier, jon lucien, gil scott-heron (especially with the heavy reliance on flute; word to brian jackson), and other similarly difficult to classify 70s sometimes soul folks. really pleased it has crossed my radar.
