A long time ago, before I was an adult, I would occasionally lash out at someone. I usually only do it if 1) I feel attacked or threatened by that person 2) someone else was saying it behind their back and wouldn't "fess up", trying to stir up tension.
I always apologized and explained that so and so was saying stuff behind someone's back and that it upset me and that I don't feel that way, it's just that the behind the back "me or them" stuff was getting to me.

and by that I mean, on what grounds can you be ignored "in the face"? or is this one of those teenager things where you try to be funny by adding nonsequiturs on the end of every sentence
