it doesn't really make sense to get a cat yet since we don't know when/if we'll go back to london. and if we do, it would suck to have to put a new pet through the crazy quarantine!

colette, Thursday, 29 November 2007 17:44 (sixteen years ago) link

I finally figured out where my cat left that rogue turd one day while she was mad at me. I lived with it for days before that, though. Lots of febreeze and window opening. Really kind of a nightmare.

Quick Bitch
I just discovered another coworker who is pissed at me for being out yesterday. Male Coworker comes to my desk and asks me where he can find some checks for some draw he's working on and I don't know where they are kept for that project, so he heads to Accountant. Accountant calls me from her desk telling me it doesn't exist and all those checks came out of another common file and I should get them there. BUT he's at her desk at the very back of the office AND the files are in the drawer BESIDE her desk in alphabetical order... So then he comes all the way up to the front and hands me the same paper again. Then I go to the very back to her desk while she's sitting there and take out the two pieces he needs and go and copy them.

That's a v. good point, C.

Rogue Turd was way better as a four piece.

Sarah, did she know where the papers were?

Jesse, Thursday, 29 November 2007 17:47 (sixteen years ago) link

This is a more recent Onion article on cats that made me laugh:

Point/Counterpoint: Cats Are Better Than Dogs

n/a, Thursday, 29 November 2007 17:48 (sixteen years ago) link

I do similar things around here sometimes, but usually b/c it's easier for me to just get something than to explain where it is, and possibly have my directions be met with confusion and more questions.

(The answer to "where is ________ document?" is more often than not, "On J's coffee table" or "Under J's desk.")

xpost- I liked that point-counterpoint a lot

Jesse, Thursday, 29 November 2007 17:49 (sixteen years ago) link

She knew they were there though right beside her. It would have taken her 5 seconds to grab them out! I wouldn't have minded getting them if I knew they were there in the first place. She was just being deliberately annoying.

KitCat, Thursday, 29 November 2007 17:51 (sixteen years ago) link

you were out yesterday?

Jordan, Thursday, 29 November 2007 17:52 (sixteen years ago) link

Yup. I was out sick.

Jesse, Thursday, 29 November 2007 18:52 (sixteen years ago) link

Frankfort, like most of Will County, is barely a suburb.

I need to stop making crossword puzzles because once I start one, it is very very hard to take a break, even if I should be working. Anyway, I did a theme one, or at least kind of a theme one, and it turned out all right. I'll link to it later.

jaymc, Thursday, 29 November 2007 19:04 (sixteen years ago) link

do you mean because you get involved in it, or because of that fucking demo software? :>

i've resisted downloading it at work, and i'm dying to make another one but i won't have the time until next week at the earliest

Jordan, Thursday, 29 November 2007 19:06 (sixteen years ago) link
