whatever im just saying i think that adding this new church board would be a slippery slope to us having 80 different boards on the front of ilx by this time next year

giving kbp a board made sense because a. he is annoying b. he used to be a board mod, but adding boards like the church would be stupid

c. giving him a board cut down on the amount of times the mods needed to deal with an asinine kbp mod req

To j0rdan: that's partly why we had this idea and are bringing it to you folks.
there is no longer a need for "Ask Chaki!" (or "Ask I am Robocop" for that matter) but ppl seem to be generally enthused about having a new board called The Church, this way we can give them the new board without establishing a precedent that could lead to, as you say, "80 different boards on the front of ilx."

which really we try to be fair and consistent but "precedent" hardly matters to be honest - at the heart of it there is no accountability besides what we demand of ourselves out of conscience (and u kno this)

nah i mean i don't care about how many boards there are all that much, i'm just wondering out loud and obtusely if all it takes to get a board is three people with a hair brained idea and a few others willing to play along

why because it sound interesting. Ideally its function would be just as the reverend said:

The Church should be a place where any members of ILX suffering a crisis of faith or needing spiritual guidance can seek expert advice from ILX clergy.

On-topic, for ecumenical matters only, but not necc. serious w/this.

Also, ideally it would just be for this and not a load of meta-ish gibbering as per some of the other small boards.

At this point we're not too keen on further proliferation of sub-boards.
