Where's the dag dang bonus tracks?

In terms of my own ears, MBV is one of those bands I adored 20 years ago that today, don't strike any of the same chords with me. Isn't Anything sits with Mind Furnace and Richie's Dog in a dark corner of my home, desperately wanting for the touch of stylus on their ebony hides.

for me it suffers from just having listened to it too damn much - i know it so well i never have to hear it again

although i would give an eye tooth for proper remasters of the conway era

I have the Loveless (lossless?) Minidisc, somewhere...

The Plain reissue of Loveless from a couple of years ago sounds incredible. I can't imagine these being much of an improvement.

i didn't think the plain issue sounded any better than the cd. for realsies. i'm torn now between what to get. i wish they'd put the analogue master on lp, it'd make things a lot easier.

BELATED MBV REFORMATION POINT: i liked that old article announcing tourdates, mentioning their 'longtime booking agent' who'd worked with them for twenty years. pretty slow twenty years.

is the 'loveless' reissue once again RARE OOP on vinyl?

I have the slipcase promos of the remasters somwhere. Must dig them out to see if they were actually remastered, or whether they sound the same as the original CD versions.

I hear they sound awesome if you turn them way the fuck up.

I'm willing to bet my house those CDs weren't remastered.

Dude seems pretty oblivious to the fact that big stores are selling vinyl these days. Ridiculously priced, yes, but Best Buy and all that have racks of "Abbey Road" and "Thriller".

i continually hear all about this but have yet to see it at both my local bestbuys. where do you guys live?

I live just north of Chicago. Even the Best Buy closest to my house, which has the tiniest CD selection I've ever seen in one before, has a 4 foot rack of vinyl.

the fukk? maybe it's just the places bestbuy is in around here - suburbs - that kinda negate the demand for vinyl, like closer to downtown (where all our record shops start to gravitate towards here in denver.... absolutely nothing 5 miles in any direction once you start headed out of skyscraper-range)

also you might consider, in regards of mbv, that britain doesn't have as many chain stores (i'm not saying doesn't *have*... i'm just saying we've got a wider diaspora and variety of big boxes.... me having been to england...never)
