My books tell me that the "handclaps" on "Where Did Our Love Go?" are actually guys stomping on 2x4s. Sounds like it to me, though that could be the power of suggestion.

Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - 'Implosion' (Experimental Remixes version)Cornelius - 'Perfect Rainbow' (twee as fuck)The Apples In Stereo - 'Signal In The Sky (Let's Go)' (ditto)Rae and Christian - 'Catch A Rude Awakening'NERD - 'Baby Doll'
minna on the other thread:all songs with handclaps are good!
Until Timberlake's McDonald's song proved the exception to the rule.

You know that way you know songs so well you don't really hear them any more? I couldn't tell you whether there really are handclaps in those songs, or whether my head just puts them there.

As for cowbells vs. handclaps, it's apples and oranges. Handclaps go on the upbeat (or at least they should); cowbells go on the downbeat (or all four beats).
