He seems designed to irritate, but he's made me laff out loud at least twice this year which is a fair achievement. So I v. grudgingly like him. His patter/patois is irresistably watchable, full of high-speed twisted malapropisms and Uriah Heep tics, he's at least doing something semi-original within the current funnee presenters milieu.

My little brother helps run a comedy club in London, and he has met le Brand and says he is lovely, and that telly people like him because he is totally professional. If you shout in his earpiece that he needs to make shit up for the next two minutes, he'll do it. It seems like a strange skill in the real world, but is highly prized in tellyland.

Over exposed - like every single good thing these days. He's trying to keep what was essentially a stand up act going through hours of telly. Is there anyone in the whole wide world who could do that? and ITV want him for the new J Ross or something so that's the end of him. Who's next?

Brand will never be as good as he was when we was running around Homelands/Creamfields etc. going up to random punters with a mic in order to demonstrate that he was even more loved up than they were, on MTV's Dancefloor Chart.

He needs to become the new presenter of a revived Blankety Blank on BBC prime time.

However he is very, very good at hosting BB'sBM. what i like most about him is that although he's very quick, especially in the audience opinion sections of the show, he's never snide towards the audience members. also he always tries to deflate any particularly vitriolic opinion in a surprisingly claming way. "oh you shouldn't think that, i like grace, she's nice".

russell re-branding himself as a philosopher guru reminds me a bit of neil strauss trying to make the pivot into positive lifestyle influencer after years of being a rancid detriment to society. it's all just a grift, and they still try to trade in on their bad-boy image as giving them bonafides of a different sort, it makes them a veteran of certain wars, allows them to reflect upon their behaviors as if they're at a complete remove while enjoying still having the image of people who have had those experiences.
