I think Children's Hospital is one their better releases.

Loving the new Moon Duo album. The Sonic Boom remixes on the bonus CD are definitely worth a listen too.

plazzTT, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 12:00 (thirteen years ago) link

agree, the Moon Duo record blew me away on first listen. i'm gonna carve out more time for it this week. totally great album. haven't gotten to the bonus disc yet, but looks v. promising -- Sonic Boom, Cave, Psychic Ills, couple others i forget

hey ilxor, thanks for contributing, glad you stopped by (ilxor), Tuesday, 5 April 2011 14:00 (thirteen years ago) link

@GLOWER METAL thanks for the Follakzoid tip. Sounds excellent, gonna get that 12" http://www.sacredbonesrecords.com/releases/sbr044/

these guys should really just work like a 401k. you throw them a bit from every pay period and they keep sending you records...you can then go home and retire to great stuff every night.

naked on the vague EP is a huge step forward for a band i previously found really lame. great stuff

been on a SB binge as of late. can't get enough moon duo, adore the slug guts record, quite looking forward to the circle pit EP as well, as they went from being a bit of a joke to something really interesting over the last year

i've grown to love the new pop. 1280 - so scuzzy and nasty

Stupid question: do all of SB's vinyl releases include a download, or is it just some releases/more recent ones? I've been trying to get an answer from the label, but I'm not sure my email is getting through.

Thanks for the info, though- does anyone know if the Moon Duo remix collection and the last Zola Jesus LP do?

sleeve, Wednesday, 1 August 2012 13:36 (eleven years ago) link

I don't know why I even bought that Men album; it seemed more like something I *should* have liked rather than something I actually did like. I get whiplash from how different every track is. And I usually like albums that have thematic and genre variety, but something about it didn't work for me.

global tetrahedron, Wednesday, 1 August 2012 15:25 (eleven years ago) link

THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS for the Eraserhead LP/7", jesus fucking christ.

what should I get?

flopson, Saturday, 3 December 2016 23:41 (seven years ago) link

the Psychic Ills album from this year is good, it's like alt-country Spacemen 3

flopson, Saturday, 3 December 2016 23:42 (seven years ago) link

i'm a big fan of the killed by deathrock comps, destruction unit and pop. 1280

i also like the first holydrug couple album though i'm not 100% sold on the second

my favorite of all though is amen dunes

the late great, Saturday, 3 December 2016 23:47 (seven years ago) link

i also agree with you psychic ills are great ("hazed dream" is my favorite)

not that familiar w the rest of the catalog

the late great, Saturday, 3 December 2016 23:48 (seven years ago) link

amen dunes "through donkey jaw" is an essential album imo

the late great, Saturday, 3 December 2016 23:50 (seven years ago) link

Cool, i copped kdb vol 2 (loved vol 1) and got the newest Destruction Unit. drummer of my old noisy rock band used to rave about them; i don't listen to much music like that anymore but u never know

flopson, Saturday, 3 December 2016 23:57 (seven years ago) link

Love all the Follokzoid albums. Maybe III > II > I for right now?
