skipped a lot of msgs here but basically if u dont listen to metal or w/e how could this possibly affect u, also probably stfu about it? the rolling metal thread really isnt the same as autogoon etc, ie 7 dudes talking about w/e its like 700 guys posting about what promo cds they got and it sucked, it needed to be split, dont really see HOW PEOPLE ARE POSSIBLY AFFECTED AT ALL by threads that they do not read? something i've enevr understood about ilx, but then again i don't look at ILM or SNA all day, i just look at whatever threads i like

my solution to the rolling-every-subgenre thread is: I'll post to rolling metal. if there's a band that warrants its own thread, I'll post to that or start it. if some subgenre thread has some sort of special reason to be blowing up (like if Gorgoroth made another masterpiece like Ad Majorem I can see the black metal thread getting pretty lit up) then I can imagine posting to it but otherwise I don't see the point, it seems like trainspotting to me and I am not into that shit. I don't vigorously oppose subgenre threads but I do think they're pointless, rolling metal is fun & has flow whereas separate-bin-for-everything just does not interest me in the slightest. this is the internet and it's 2011, "things move fast" is actually OK by me
