I love whatever old west thing they have going on too!

if I hate the headline, I'll make up a headline (Abbbottt), Friday, 18 March 2011 23:12 (thirteen years ago) link

I've never heard of her before, but apparently her name is Togawa Jun. She sounds like an interesting character: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jun_Togawa

Might have to do some digging, to be honest.

I love Jun Togawa. Never knew she covered Slapp Happy. She's been in many bands, favorite one is Guernica and that's probably the best place of entry for Slapp Happy / Kurt Weill fans

though I like some of her 80's technopop too in the same way I like Nina Hagen

Guernica, Jun Togawa's band

& she comes up a bit here too: Kiyohiko Senba and his Haniwa All Stars

I heard Acnalbasac Noom first, and so when I heard the Casablanca Moon version it was interesting to see that the Bongwater cover is basically a clone of that version and not the rockin' version on AN. But you're right on that cover, they clearly got the lyrics from Bongwater
