It was okay, but even the most half-cooked Troy & Abed in the Morning joke would've been better.

Pierce made it worth it for me

The funniest part about Britta's 'Genie in a Bottle' thing was Britta's 'Genie in a Bottle' thing. It basically set up me laughing at everything Britta said or did for the rest of the episode.

The end was, like, a total lazy, shit joke, which I feel like is really rare for Community.

I bet Annie's Boobs is running around in the background or something...that, or it's a setup for a future joke.

I totally think that's possible and would be awesome, but I also think there's the distinct possibility that sometimes comedy writers write a lazy "observational humor in our wacky future times" joke.

I saw it as sort of a 'what would each character's style of handheld device be?' conversation between writers, maybe it wasn't supposed to be funny. I was definitely thinking idgi afterward though.

i think it was supposed to be "this is what real ppl do when they get together in groups, ignore each other in favor of technology." which is true, but not exactly lols-a-minute.

i have a friend (A FRIEND!) who's in some sort of D&D-esque gaming group and apparently they've devolved to just sitting around on their laptops ignoring each other.

The episode confused me because my DVR told me it was going to be the "pulp fiction" episode and then it totally wasn't.

was a joke about what happens when they don't have wacky adventures.

really? was that it? guess sometimes community just isn't funny. will have to ~adjust~ to this new information

i'm guessing that it was a way to mess with regular viewers of the show. when the camera turned to pierce i was really expecting something to happen. the idea of a 'how people behave in this situation' joke just doesn't fit with my picture of the show.

english is not my native language so i would appreciate any corrections to my posts. especially when it comes to grammar.

a lot of their little ending segments are kind of deliberately simple or expectation-defying, and really who watches those and goes "gahh they totally wasted those 15 seconds, i'm losing my faith in this show"

Am I missing the joke with the paintball sweatshirt text?

I think it was a meta joek about fans who claimed that the show went downhill from that episode

xxp i know but it was the first time that i asked myself 'what just happened?' after the last segment. all previous endings, even if not connected to the plot of the episode, were just simple and straigthforward fun.

and i never said that those segments have any influence on how i rate this show.

This show is excellent at making me crush on whichever female character gets the most screen time in a particular week. Sometimes it's Annie, sometimes it's Britta, sometimes it's Shirley. Also? Man-crush on Troy always.

Dan Harmon got into a mini debate with someone on Twitter re: the tastelesness of making ethnic cleansing jokes

I get it...but in the context of him playing Medal of Honor or whatever with Troy and Abed and them wooping it up with him over what a stone cold killer he was as a gamer, it was pretty funny
But I have no morals and am going to hell

the "debate" itself was kind of lol, it was basically one person saying "maybe that went too far" and Harmon asking "how so?" and the person replying by saying "by going too far" and no amount of requests for expansion or clarification could produce a single concrete example from the complainer as to what he/she was objecting to

like, I thought it was hilarious and I could have pointed out three things that were in questionable taste (playing a national genocide for laughs, the unseemly relish with which dude enjoyed killing other people, Troy and Abed translating those atrocities into gameplay without even blinking) so it was amazing to me that this person just wanted to make vague complaints and expected Harmon to be a mindreader

ok the My Dinner With Andre homage and Cougar Town jokes are totally upstaging the so-called Pulp Fiction episode

Amusingly, that was the entire point.

"The wardrobe lady gave me new pants."

abed's whole cougar town monologue was incredible

I like the fact that there's a five minute stretch where, for all the knowingness I had about the DWA homage while watching, the show actually stops being a sitcom. That was kind of incredible.

Can't wait to watch it again.

Danny Pudi's opening monologue was delivered so damn well. He is amazing.

Watched this one late because I was away from the tv at 8. I love how it was advertised as one thing that was, in actuality, another. Danny Pudi is amazing.

Died at "Cougar Town High School" tbqh.

I loved this episode so much. Danny Pudi was magic.
