YES. I absolutely agree.

I dunno, if they're even going to keep Chang in the show, it seems unlikely at this point to ever bring him back down to the "normal" level of the main characters ever again (like say the episode with his ex-wife from last year), so I guess that's why they just keep ramping him up
His best moment this season has gotta be that one at the end of the drug play episode after Shirley forgives him, and he just says "I'll tell Chang when I see him!" with the most stone cold serial killer vibe

Not the greatest episode, but I'm such a stan for this show now I get untold amounts of joy from things like Troy's "what was that?" after Britta's Genie in a Bottle thing.

I see your Annie's boobs and raise you Jeff's nipples.
― ThirtyPennies, Friday, 18 March 2011 17:35 (thirteen years ago) link
i don't think Jeff "Nipple Player" Winger is necessarily a reference to his own nipples

Seriously, Donald Glover's timing and delivery on lines like that is fucking genius.

The end was, like, a total lazy, shit joke, which I feel like is really rare for Community.
― ENERGY FOOD (en i see kay), Friday, 18 March 2011 20:48 (thirteen years ago) link
It was okay, but even the most half-cooked Troy & Abed in the Morning joke would've been better.

The funniest part about Britta's 'Genie in a Bottle' thing was Britta's 'Genie in a Bottle' thing. It basically set up me laughing at everything Britta said or did for the rest of the episode.

― Philip Nunez, Friday, 18 March 2011 21:25 (thirteen years ago) link
I bet Annie's Boobs is running around in the background or something...that, or it's a setup for a future joke.
― Tarfumes The Escape Goat, Friday, 18 March 2011 22:46 (thirteen years ago) link
I totally think that's possible and would be awesome, but I also think there's the distinct possibility that sometimes comedy writers write a lazy "observational humor in our wacky future times" joke.
― ENERGY FOOD (en i see kay), Friday, 18 March 2011 22:58 (thirteen years ago) link
I saw it as sort of a 'what would each character's style of handheld device be?' conversation between writers, maybe it wasn't supposed to be funny. I was definitely thinking idgi afterward though.
― rockapads, Friday, 18 March 2011 23:05 (thirteen years ago) link
i think it was supposed to be "this is what real ppl do when they get together in groups, ignore each other in favor of technology." which is true, but not exactly lols-a-minute.

i have a friend (A FRIEND!) who's in some sort of D&D-esque gaming group and apparently they've devolved to just sitting around on their laptops ignoring each other.

The episode confused me because my DVR told me it was going to be the "pulp fiction" episode and then it totally wasn't.

really? was that it? guess sometimes community just isn't funny. will have to ~adjust~ to this new information
― nultimate fighting champ (cozen), Saturday, 19 March 2011 01:43 (thirteen years ago) link
i'm guessing that it was a way to mess with regular viewers of the show. when the camera turned to pierce i was really expecting something to happen. the idea of a 'how people behave in this situation' joke just doesn't fit with my picture of the show.
english is not my native language so i would appreciate any corrections to my posts. especially when it comes to grammar.
― bakumastah, Saturday, 19 March 2011 03:19 (thirteen years ago) link
a lot of their little ending segments are kind of deliberately simple or expectation-defying, and really who watches those and goes "gahh they totally wasted those 15 seconds, i'm losing my faith in this show"

― Crazed Mister Handy (kingfish), Saturday, 19 March 2011 03:34 (thirteen years ago) link
I think it was a meta joek about fans who claimed that the show went downhill from that episode
― Mordy, Saturday, 19 March 2011 03:46 (thirteen years ago) link
xxp i know but it was the first time that i asked myself 'what just happened?' after the last segment. all previous endings, even if not connected to the plot of the episode, were just simple and straigthforward fun.
― bakumastah, Saturday, 19 March 2011 04:26 (thirteen years ago) link
and i never said that those segments have any influence on how i rate this show.

of course not, that's why Troy said "Nipple Player" instead of "nipple-play," and then played with Britta's nipples instead of miming playing with Jeff's, and oh wait

This show is excellent at making me crush on whichever female character gets the most screen time in a particular week. Sometimes it's Annie, sometimes it's Britta, sometimes it's Shirley. Also? Man-crush on Troy always.

I still don't get the whole nipple thing - help me understand it - I must not of been listening correctly.
So Jeff had a nipple mp3 player or more likely he taped his nipples down when he exercised? And what could be embarrassing about playing with Britta's nipples?
