she just reminds me of the kind of girl that would audition for a community theater play and sing "A Little Fall of Rain" from Les Miz, but would get confused and kinda break down when the accompanist plays the song in a different key from the one she practiced in.

lol "enhanced cd"
unless these guys aren't just rich-parent-hustlers but creepy pedos (that one "5 days with CJ Fam" video has the camera following CJ and her little friend into an abandoned shed in the woods for some reason), they should totally exploit this net buzz for their own MTV series.

Its like a professional version of those insta-studios you can go to, karaoke it up in front of a greenscreen and then burn it to CD.
I was at a recording studio that gets a lot of big-paycheck clients, big place with multiple studios, and while we were there in like the C studio over in D was the daughter of a guy who owns this massive company whose products I have enjoyed since I was a child. They had 1) hired some of the people who write hits for Britney etc and 2) hired a vocal coach and 3) hired musicians to a) write a record for their daughter b) teach her to sing it and c) track it, at full studio rates. they were there for a week working all day on something that will never see the light of day, just indulging their idea that enough money & successful people could make their daughter a pop diva.
I'm pretty impressed that she craves a "bowl" before even having breakfast, that is hardcore
this made me lol really hard

Let me explain to him in simple arithmetic. One, two three! Because you don't fuckin' get it, Burt! You give us the tapes. We get the record contract. We come back and give you your fuckin' money. Have you heard the tapes? Have you even heard them? We're guaranteed a record deal. Our stuff is that good!
― for real molars who ain't got no fillings (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 15 March 2011 00:43 (thirteen years ago) link
For serious it is interesting how the Ark model is different from the old vanity stuff. You have autotune, which makes it really easy to make a talentless singer sound catchy and tuneful, and you have youtube, which makes the distribution costs nothing. So you can record high production value vanity shit for people, charge them a lot of money, and then put it out there easily, and if it takes off, more money for you, if not, no big deal.

Also she totally looks like the kind of indulged fat brat who does precisely this kind of thing (or beauty contests) at the behest of pushy parents. UGH.

Lex's analysis has made me realise that this song corresponds exactly to the picture of Kafka Judith Butler put forward the other week:
precisely because of this apparently objective and rigorous mode of writing, a certain horror opens up in the midst of the quotidian, perhaps also an unspeakable grief
