recommend a book about the Mexican Revolution

Not anything like a real "History of the Mexican Revolution" book, but it contains some very interesting, if desultory, journalism: Insurgent Mexico, by John Reed, published in 1914. It will give your other reading a new flavor.

Any other books to recommend on this subject? A reading of the initial chapters of W.K. Stratton’s book on The Wild Bunch piqued my interest in this a bit; he discusses Walon Green’s time spent in Mexico talking with veterans of the war, which led to him incorporating some elements into the film (the idea of which came from a stuntman named Roy Sickner). Ten percent of the population of Mexico died during this war!
