Jordan, Friday, 22 February 2008 21:38 (sixteen years ago) link

I am always afraid to click on the links here or go listen to other ilxor's electronic musics mayhems because I think about what if one of you internet people makes music I like better than my own? I would have to throw my computer out

El Tomboto, Friday, 22 February 2008 21:43 (sixteen years ago) link

haha, i didn't know your opinion of ilx was quite that low.

both the remixes i've listened to so far sound awesome (tom's & n/a's).

Jordan, Friday, 22 February 2008 21:46 (sixteen years ago) link

michael f gill is an ilx dude
eazy is on there under his government name
promqueen USA is nabisco

based on a quick scan, mine in easily the worst. not being falsely modest, still pretty proud of mine since i don't really know how to do remixes at all. just the quality seems high across the board

n/a, Saturday, 23 February 2008 00:48 (sixteen years ago) link

The top two tracks currently on my myspace page are from the album I did for the RPM 08 challenge. For a project slapped together just because I could I think they turned out pretty decent.

we re-did 'never too late' and it's head and shoulders the best thing we've done, which means it doesnt totally suck

S-, Friday, 7 March 2008 06:55 (sixteen years ago) link

I have never let other people hear my musicings, even though I feel I'm pretty good at them. I think I will stop being so shy.

The Reverend, Saturday, 8 March 2008 23:40 (sixteen years ago) link

Both of those are intended to be full songs with vocals, but for now they are not.

The Reverend, Saturday, 8 March 2008 23:41 (sixteen years ago) link

And somehow I naturally left in this little bass bit I tried out and didn't like in one of those. Oh well.

Chriddof, Friday, 25 April 2008 14:08 (fifteen years ago) link

Dear Mr. Chriddof:

It seems clear, at least to me, that you despise most music, in the sense of the word that the electorate holds it. I would, therefore, greatly appreciate the challenge of turning your efforts into popular anthems, were you inclined to offer me the opportunity. My e-mail address can be discovered via the first link on the left below this post. Should I fail in my endeavour, you can at least be sure you did not fail in yours.

Regards,

The Mighty Sandy Heath Transmitters - Sweethearts Of The Fallout

Haven't made a new track in ages. This is one of the first tracks I made almost entirely in Reason (although I had to use Acid Pro/Sound Forge to record the vocals which are all performed by yours truly). There are a few things I wish I could change (sometimes the vocals are too loud, and they come in quite abruptly sometimes). But let me know what you reckon.

"Rock Out" needs a better title: "You Listened to This So You Must Be Gay (Your Wife Caught You Jerking Off While Looking at Pics of Dicks)." (cf Anal Cut, the thread on that band that made the album about George W. Bush, etc.)

A couple of newly posted live tracks wherein the drums are prominent in the mix (almost uncomfortably so for me):

Things I Used to Know

St3ve Go1db3rg, Saturday, 17 May 2008 01:18 (fifteen years ago) link

Very pretty power pop Steve - I like the nice tight stops and starts. Good lyrics too. Actually this is pretty fucking excellent!

the next grozart, Sunday, 18 May 2008 13:19 (fifteen years ago) link

I was mucking about with Reason, a bugle, a tin whistle, a drum and a hell of a lot of echo and reverb. Left all the mistakes in and did the vocal in one take (you can tell). Still I quite like this one, and at least I can say I've had a go at punk/dubstep (punkstep?!)
