It's a deal, Luna. I want you to take the killshot.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 17:42 (twenty years ago) link

Why on earth doesn't Starbuck's (or any of its competitors) deliver?

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 17:42 (twenty years ago) link

OMG I have this raging headache and I've felt all woobly and disoriented since the drive home from Calgary. This is completely annoying. I have a lot of work to do today but I really want to call in sick. Blehhhhh.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 17:44 (twenty years ago) link

Maybe you could use a courier? Many offices have accounts with bike messengers and stuff (one local mag I used to write for once sent a bike courier to my house to pick up a cover for a CD review, and this was the same mag that for some reason took between six months to a year to mail out free-L cheques).

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 17:46 (twenty years ago) link

For you, Horace, I'll do it.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 17:58 (twenty years ago) link

You have no idea how it warms my heart to know that out there in the world, there's a woman I've never actually met, who will kill my enemies after I'm dead. This is the most beautiful day of my life. Thank you, Luna. I kiss you.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 18:01 (twenty years ago) link

If anyone catches me on ILX between now and this Friday, then shout at me to make sure I've finished my recconciliations and my directorate breakdowns, OK? Thanks.

HRH Queen Kate (kate), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 18:02 (twenty years ago) link

I kiss you back.

You're welcome.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 18:02 (twenty years ago) link

This Is the Thread Where We Arrange the Murders of Each Others' Enemies, Like Some Sorta Nu-Hitchcock Story

Kingfish Beefstick (Kingfish), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 18:24 (twenty years ago) link

Old-Hitchcock was better.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 18:34 (twenty years ago) link

Uh, the fill-in boss of my dept. has just cranked up the country music television station.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 18:48 (twenty years ago) link

and he's singing along.
It's my fault though.
Not two minutes earlier he asked, "Hey, Huckleberry, what's that All-Shania, All-the-time channel?"

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 18:50 (twenty years ago) link

You must kill him.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 18:50 (twenty years ago) link

Can't...move...a muscle...synthized fiddle...affecting...motor skills...cyanide tablet...in heel...of...right shoe...

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 18:52 (twenty years ago) link

I hope they play that male-singer countrified version of "they paved paradise and put up a parking lot", that one's awesome.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 18:55 (twenty years ago) link

Clearly I'm going to have to start avenging sooner than I thought.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 18:57 (twenty years ago) link

but autotuned vox over steel guitars are just SO COUNTRY!

Kingfish Beefstick (Kingfish), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 18:59 (twenty years ago) link

So has there been bloody death yet?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 19:15 (twenty years ago) link

I'm trying to finish up my little cookbook this afternoon -- oh, this isn't re: bloody death, except maybe the meatball recipe -- for various reasons, most of them seasonal. I'm like blocked on what to say in an intro-type thing, though. "Hi, I'm Bill. I make food. Here's how."

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 19:24 (twenty years ago) link

I'm trying to finish up my little cookbook this afternoon -- oh, this isn't re: bloody death

THEN WHERE IS THE FUN.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 19:25 (twenty years ago) link

I'll throw blood pudding in!

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 19:26 (twenty years ago) link

MMMMM

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 19:27 (twenty years ago) link

In somewhat more obsessive news, cause I know I mentioned my Ebay quests on this thread's forebears, I now have a collection of Haruki Murakami short stories -- uncollected anywhere else -- in Russian.

Yeah, I don't read Russian.

I took one day of Russian class, in 1990.

It's pretty.

See?

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 19:48 (twenty years ago) link

I'm not sure, but I think you might be a giant, Tep.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 19:50 (twenty years ago) link

The book does look fairly dollhouse-sized in my hand there, doesn't it? That must be because I'm TWELVE FEET TALL AND STEAM-POWERED.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 19:54 (twenty years ago) link

That's what drinking pineapple zombie blowjobs will do to you, I guess.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 19:56 (twenty years ago) link

Meaning if I drink one Tep gets taller and more steam-powered?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 19:58 (twenty years ago) link

zombies ARE generally associated with voodoo

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 19:59 (twenty years ago) link

The power of voodoo?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 19:59 (twenty years ago) link

Who do?

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:00 (twenty years ago) link

I AM NOT YOUR SIMON AND SIMON VOODOO DOLL, MR MANN

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:04 (twenty years ago) link

GODDAMMIT HORACE.

Kingfish Beefstick (Kingfish), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:04 (twenty years ago) link

i googlesrc'd power of voodoo, and that came up. the url is something about fanfic. it's a big crazy world.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:04 (twenty years ago) link

Well now I want a voodoo doll.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:06 (twenty years ago) link

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:08 (twenty years ago) link

Why is Timmy wearing the oven mitt from the Hamburger Helper commercials?

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:11 (twenty years ago) link

I have no idea what the hell that is, I was looking for a voodoo doll for Luna, and that came up.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:12 (twenty years ago) link

It's Timmy the ... well, I don't know what he is, but he's the companion to Tabitha the Evil Witch on Passions. Except I think he's dead now. Either him or the actor who played him.

He's not ordinarily so suave.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:15 (twenty years ago) link

Actor: Josh Ryan Evans
Birthday: January 10, 1982
Birth Place: Hayward, California

Josh Ryan Evans is one of the smallest actors in Hollywood at 37 inches.
His career began when he landed a spot on "The Dancing Baby" ice cream
commercial, which led to his role in "Baby Geniuses", where he played all
the babies and did all the dancing. He also has written a series of children's
books.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:18 (twenty years ago) link

All the babies and all the dancing!

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:18 (twenty years ago) link

Man, no wonder that movie creeped me out. All the baby geniuses were ONE GUY. It's like the Malkovitch Malkovitch Malkovitch scene.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:19 (twenty years ago) link

(I backspaced "in Being John Malkovitch", because, what, I'm gonna be talking about the one in Gone With The Wind?)

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:20 (twenty years ago) link

Yup, Imdb confirms he died in 2002 of complications from surgery.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:31 (twenty years ago) link

Not midgets, voodoo dolls!

I demand satisfaction!

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:32 (twenty years ago) link
