Anyone have preferred ways of getting the seeds out that doesn’t take forever? I tried the Jacques Pepin way where you slice and open it like a flower and then whack it upside down to knock the seeds out, but I find that I don’t want all that juice splatter.

I do love razzies but they don't last anywhere near as long as poms.

Depending on the climate you can save some of the seeds. I got sprouts but no real growth here in Galway. I think a warmer climate can get spectacular size of growth. Was looking at it online a few years ago. But Mangos grow from discarded seeds at the side of roads in tropical climes didn't get anything planting one here though I think you can get small mango trees in garden centres just don't expect fruit

slice and open it like a flower and then submerge each section in a bowl of water when you remove the seeds. that way there's no mess and the membrane floats to the top so you don't have to be fussy.

Using the whack method or are you removing them by hand at this point?

by hand, you could give it a whack if you like but i fear the resulting splash might defeat the purpose.
you can determine the difficulty level of a fruit or vegetable acc how many onomatopoeias are associated with its preparation.

also is there a special kind of pomegranate paddle you can use for "the whack method" because if not there should be

I'd just been using a big wooden spoon.

Make fesenjan (duck with pomegranate and walnuts).― aldo_cowpat
this is made with pomegranate juice (from a bottle) not the fruit (and with chicken, unless you are at a fancy restaurant for westernized nouveau cuisine)
we break these open with our hands and scoop the seeds into a bowl with a spoon. then you sprinkle the pile of seeds with salt (maybe a tablespoon for a cereal bowl worth). then you eat it with a spoon
contrary to what ppl hawking their cookbook will tell you, i don’t think there’s any particular trick to scooping it out cleanly. just practice, like any other skill

the bowl of water trick will definitely keep the juice off your shirt while you figure it out, though!
