The Horn singles didn't come out on CD until a couple of years ago on the budget Platinum Collection compilation. Some non-single tracks from The Dollar Album included but the album itself has yet to debut on CD.

Simple answer:

Therese Bazaar was the brains of the outfit.

Not that brainy when it came to managers - Trevor wanted her to be the original singer in Art of Noise but her manager asked for too much money and she went off and cut a flop/possibly never released album for Atlantic.

true, but when they split, she went into advertising jingles, and he went into fashion modelling.

Remember being surprised it wasn't the other way around at the time.

(Lead sing AON wouldn't have ebeen much of a career either, tbf)

In fairness to her it was Arif Mardin who was the producer, who was hot at the time with the Scritti and Chaka Khan productions.

I'd quite like to hear that actually - she was interviewed about it in Blitz but I never actually saw the record in the shops.

Total classic to pick up next time you're in the charity shop - "Young Americans Talking," DVD's only solo single from 1983, gloriously OTT production by Andy Hill.

Forthcoming 8 disc boxset (on Cherry Red!) is kinda insane but also awesome. There's also a more sensible 2-disc option.

• Personally overseen by Thereza Bazar, with introduction comments from Thereza and David.
• Exhaustive 6-disc collection of audio containing expanded versions of the albums “Shooting Stars”, “The Paris Collection” and “The Dollar Album”, re-mastered from the original master tapes.
• DVD featuring every promo video made and a selection of Top of The Pops appearances from original masters.
• Newly commissioned vintage style 12” mixes of ‘Mirror Mirror’, ‘Give Me Back My Heart’, ‘Hand Held In Black And White’, ‘Videotheque’, ‘Give Me Some Kinda Magic’ and ‘Love’s Gotta Hold On Me’ from the original multi track tapes.
• Previously unreleased PWL mixes.
• ‘We Walked In Love’ and ‘Haven’t We Said Goodbye Before’ 7” and 12” mixes making their CD debut.
• Previously unreleased instrumentals, backing tracks, demos and alternative versions.
• Newly discovered vault track ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ from 1988.
• Huge booklet containing track-by-track commentary by Thereza Bazar , comments from David Van Day and others involved in the releases.
• Booklet contains The Dollar Songbook – complete lyrics to the box set material, liner notes and many rare photos.
