I watched 10 minutes of this over the weekend, horrible even by SyFy original movie standards

on the plus side, Mickey Dolenz got eaten by a giant snake

agree that Debbie Gibson looked like some sort of decrepit horse-mummy

Haha, yeah, I did forget to mention Mickey Dolenz getting eaten. Tbh though, I almost missed him getting eaten just because I was loling so hard at him playing himself in the movie.

The story isn't actually that exciting!

During my wife's freshman year, she dated a dude who went to HS with NKOTB and tried to flex his VIP cred by taking her out to a nightclub where they were hanging out and introducing her to them. Unfortunately this was pre-The Right Stuff and she had no idea who they were, so when dude was all "they're SINGERS" she said "so? I am too" and proceed to talk about placing third at the Mid-South Fair and being courted by Juilliard.

oh man I have major props for your wife then. Penny was asshole non grata in O-Town for many things, basketball and non-basketball related.

most famous person I ever met locally in public was Anthony Bowie of the Orlando Magic in 1997 and he made fun of me.

i'm surprised i never posted on this thread. my sister was a huge NKOTB fan. she had their posters up all over her walls, and of course her favorite was Joey, because Joey was younger than the rest of the kids on that block, which meant that he was only 8 years old than my sister, who was 8 in 1988. i was 5. a legendary new kids moment happened during a concert when Joey's voice changed in the middle of the concert. how adorable!!

also, for some reason I _cannot_ forget the memory of listening to "Funky, Funky Xmas" on the famed 1989 release Merry, Merry Christmas

i laugh when I watch new live videos now cos all I see when I see Donnie Wahlberg is his snarky character from that awful copaganda show Blue Bloods (which my folks love and I see via osmosis), but also because holy fuck is he a tone deaf singer, way more than he used to be.

like completely miles away from the other guys. he doesn't even sing the "all that I needed was you" because his voice cracks.

but man lighting that carpet on fire was badass

Don't sleep on 'I'll Be Your Everything', their collab with Tommy Page (who I just learned committed suicide in 2017, RIP).

Wait, did I hear someone ask if NKOTB ever did a reggae song? Well of course they did!
