we had a keurig in the office. it was crazy convenient and the coffee is pretty good.

yeah we have one here too, i like the coffee. im a dark roast extra bold guy

dont give me that flavored shit.

the only keurig i can stand is 'jet fuel' and even that is p crappy

i cant drink black coffee though unless im wearing a diaper.

First, I'm surprised he didn't press boiling water through the filter first. Second, can someone explain what the point of the inversion is? Or the double pour?

I am totally in favor of my AeroPress style becoming super arcane but I want to be able to justify it.

i think the main thing w/ inversion is you avoid dripping until you flip and plunge

i also do the filter warm-up first but otherwise the method in the vid is the one i use

i got an aeropress from my gf's mom, it's pretty nice. first time i've made espresso at home.

its got a lip that sticks out and rests on the top of the cup to prevent that

I'm so happy with my aeropress. Since getting it is the first time I've regularly drunk coffee tbh. Strength + easy cleaning = finally something to rival tea.

The wikipedia page for the aeropress says that the inverted method results in more oils extracted. This seems like bs though, how does that work?

I have a hario hand-grinder, it's better than an electric blade grinder but not as good as a electric burr grinder

I think zassenhaus are the most recommended of the manual hand grinders, but they are expensive and big and heavy

I use the Capresso Infinity conical burr grinder and they still sell for around $85-90. I find it to be perfectly good.

i got an aeropress because of this thread, best thing ive ever bought because of ilx. chemex and bialetti going into storage.

I overscooped into the aeropress this weekend while half asleep, made an incredibly strong but so smooth cappuccino.

i just thought i totally fucked up a cup and it turned out to still taste great--is it even possible to make bad coffee with this thing?

yah the other reason I never really use my aeropress is because it only makes like 2 ounces at a time. I like making a big cup and just sitting there and drinking that cup. even if the caffeine content or w/e ends up being the same.

Got some "New Orleans" brew from Albertson's that had a big label "WITH CHICORY!!!" whatever tf that is. Anyways, read yer labels: I get home and supposedly chicory is supposed to be great thing because it drastically reduces caffeine content.
