i still keep having bad dreams about places i've been fired from, tho.

They don't think it's fair that other employees have to pay a part of the medical costs that are the product of this lifestyle choice.

The whole notion that Microsoft is "frowning" at the fact that the workers there own iPods is hilarious. Almost everyone on the bus over to Redmond has them. I don't use the little white headphones, because they're uncomfortable and don't sound as good -- so maybe I'm unintentionally conspicuous, but I never had to hide my iPod when I was working there. As long as I did the work I needed to (which sometimes required I get into iPod zone out), that's the bottom line, and it wasn't a concern. It's counter-productive to be a bit fascist about it.. and I've never heard of anybody at MS getting fired over using an iPod.

My brother used to work at Unilever and during his tenure there, everything in his house that could be Unilever was. At Christmas, all of our gifts from him were Unilever. Nothing conveys the spirit of Christmas more than this box of liquid soap! He came to my apartment one time, went into the bathroom cabinet and said, "what is this? It's not Unilever! You're disloyal!" Honestly, during his tenure there, he was as bad as Amway.

Some of these places are like those South Korean companies where you eat, sleep and exercise the company. Americans like to think they're better, but they're not.
