the snow yesterday was the worst in 8 years -- i was actually surprised that like no one plowed into my truck parked on a fairly major thoroughfare, that the buses mostly ran all day, etc.

We had a snowstorm digital photos comparison fest at work. Some people got great ones of cars skidding backwards down the roads around here, and there was one of a toyota smushed into the back of the Real Networks building by a taxi.

My prof, who lives up in Vancouver, WA, said it was a winter wonderland up there, but although it snowed a bit there was no sign of anything sticking around here -- except the occasional snow-covered car driving by, mysteriously out of place.

Here in Portland we got hit with snow, sleet and freezing rain in alternating waves. There's a good third of an inch of ice on everything outside my window, but we've kept our electricity so far. Might be more ice coming tonight. I fucking hate ice storms.
