Also, his Thicke was good!

I also kind of liked ultra-serious Seth Meyers on weekend update even though the humor in it didn't always work. It was nice seeing him have a sort of Jon Stewart moment.
yeah...I know I said I hated this one, most of it I found really bad, but Globe sketch was awesome, spanish ESPN was great and while I was annoyed at the Fresh Prince skit because as mentioned I'd like to see him do more then just impressions all the time, it was way better then I woulda hoped. Seth's monologue about the founding fathers was fantastic.

Yeah, same here.
― Johnny Fever, Sunday, 30 January 2011 03:05 (thirteen years ago) link
i'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he's just always cast in deadpan straight man roles and that he'll at least try to prove he can do something else tonight
― some dude, Sunday, 30 January 2011 03:06 (thirteen years ago) link
didn't know there was any doubt that that's all he can do. he'll probably OD on his medication or have an anxiety attack mid-show.
I say this as a guy who really, really likes him btw.
― Gukbe, Sunday, 30 January 2011 03:08 (thirteen years ago) link
i'm not saying he's not one-note, just that i'm less sure of that being entirely because of his own limitations than i am with say Cera
― some dude, Sunday, 30 January 2011 03:40 (thirteen years ago) link
fair enough. either way he's about the last person I'd expect to fit in with the style of SNL. interested to see it, though.

yeah this has been a really good episode so far
zuckerberg's cameo was genuinely awkward + cute + endearing!
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 30 January 2011 04:56 (thirteen years ago) link
Better than most of what I've seen recently. Was worried about Eisenberg but should have known the writing is the biggest danger.
― Gukbe, Sunday, 30 January 2011 04:57 (thirteen years ago) link
is it just my feed or has eisenberg been bleeped three separate times already?

i don't even know which song this is

she'll probably do "moment 4 life" tho
imo she should do "roman's revenge" & get around the problem of no emimem by doing her "monster" verse

Ha I was just saying "bet she's not doing 'Roman's Revenge..."

When I hear a bootsy voice now in a non-bootsy role, I assign it to the Michael Steele puppet on The Daily Show.

You do know Eisenberg was a stage actor previously, Mr Casting Director?

are people supposed to a) have seen the pre-fame plays a movie star was in, b) know what kind or roles he did onstage or c) simply respect that he has 'stage actor' experience and that he thus should not be underestimated?
― some dude, Sunday, 30 January 2011 16:31 (thirteen years ago) link
people aren't supposed to do anything. "didn't know there was any doubt that that's all he can do" is just crazy-assumptive.

What was the first instance where they put an SNL cast member in character up against the figure in real life on the same screen?
Schwarzeneggar and Hans & Frans comes close, though they weren't really impersonating him.
