i have hard time believing that spec yields anything under 30lbs, but it looks like a good trail bike choice. i toyed around with the idea of the incredibly specced motobecane DS pro (the team is sold out), but haha i'm vain enough to not want a motobecane.

i got a closeout titus racer x. i really liked the trailfox frame, but the parts were not quite there value and quality wise.

should look just like that. pretty damned psyched. got it with "kit 1" which is fox f100r, fox float rear, mavic crossrides, and a mix of sram x7/x9, w/ magura brakes (not looking forward to learning how to take care of hydraulics).

ready to roll, but this bike is a bit of an anchor- 28.2 lbs, much higher than stated. if i simply change the stock 11-34 (an almost inconceivable 455 g!) for an xt 11-32 (260g), i'm at least in the 27s though, which is ok for a non racing xc/trailbike imo.

You can get mavic open pros hand-laced to ultegra hubs for <$200 where I live. Incredibly durable wheelset and high performance value.

Any links (or phone numbers)? I have a set of Open 4 CDs w/ Record hubs on my old bike, and love them. Thought I'd be priced out of anything Mavic other than Aksiums.

Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Bicycles with Advanced Group carbon forks

Units: About 14,200

Distributor: Specialized Bicycle Components Inc., of Morgan Hill, Calif.

Manufacturer: Advanced Group, of Taiwan

Hazard: The brake component housed within the bicycle's carbon fork can disengage from the fork and allow the brake assembly to contact the wheel spokes while rotating, posing a fall hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: The company has received two reports of the brake component disengaging from the carbon fork. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves the following nine, 2011 model year bicycles with Advanced Group carbon forks: Sirrus Expert, Sirrus Comp, Sirrus Elite, Vita Expert, Vita Comp, Vita Elite, Vita Elite Step Thru, Tricross Sport, Tricross, and Tricross Comp. All bicycles have the brand name "Specialized" on the lower front frame tube. The model name is on the top tube.

realcyclist has craft pro race bibs for $65. they are not bad, worth $65 imo.

Mavic shoes have been on Bonktown a lot recently (realcyclist too). I really like mine they seem to work well with my narrow feet.

Caveat though, they mainly seem to have yellow and white left, not the more sensible grey.
