This one's kind of silly, but I like it anyway.

that's not the panda bear cover by the way

mizzell, Saturday, 15 January 2011 00:38 (thirteen years ago) link

I didn't think it was. It's just a cropped photo.

I think the real Panda Bear cover is a charcoal drawing or something iirc.

Dr. (Johnny Fever), Saturday, 15 January 2011 00:40 (thirteen years ago) link

the above > every potential album ocver panda has yet to consider

heh (kelpolaris), Saturday, 15 January 2011 00:58 (thirteen years ago) link

I love the hell out of that band, but their cover art continues to be ass.

Dr. (Johnny Fever), Saturday, 15 January 2011 09:38 (thirteen years ago) link

xp I think the band are pretty lame but that cover is sweet

will we ever see eye to eye Johnny Fever

Gay for Johnny Moped (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Sunday, 16 January 2011 06:24 (thirteen years ago) link

No, that's just about right

Rand Paula Abdul Jabbar (van smack), Sunday, 16 January 2011 07:54 (thirteen years ago) link

(Iron and Wine, Kiss Each Other Clean)

Zsa Zsa Gay Bar (jaymc), Sunday, 16 January 2011 08:15 (thirteen years ago) link

i like both of those covers. wouldn't want to hear the iron & wine music and have that ruin my enjoyment of the cover, though. the seefeel cover makes me think the album's going to be ~~~fucking HEAVY~~~ (looks like a metal cover!), would love for that to be true...

looks like a graphic from late bbc2 favourite 'business lunch'

which i guess kinda works if they think they can still make bitter snipes at commodity fetishism after work as industry execs etc for 30 years

krugmayne (nakhchivan), Monday, 17 January 2011 14:38 (thirteen years ago) link

[working]

krugmayne (nakhchivan), Monday, 17 January 2011 14:41 (thirteen years ago) link

business lunch ended? :(

"jobs" (a hoy hoy), Monday, 17 January 2011 14:43 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah, except it was called working lunch (oops)

krugmayne (nakhchivan), Monday, 17 January 2011 14:44 (thirteen years ago) link

ha oh yeah. poor unemployed frumpy fat dude, i liked you more than adrian chiles.

"jobs" (a hoy hoy), Monday, 17 January 2011 14:45 (thirteen years ago) link

That GOF cover is horrid. Is the Iron & Wine one a crayon and scraped black paint job? If so, good effort.

seminal fuiud (NickB), Monday, 17 January 2011 15:00 (thirteen years ago) link

Nice fake lens flare

if you like fake lens flare

Morcheeba, simply happening. (PaulTMA), Monday, 17 January 2011 17:22 (thirteen years ago) link

Would have been kinda neat if it wasn't for the fucking gradient.

kkvgz, Tuesday, 25 January 2011 15:07 (thirteen years ago) link

The gradient and light source seem at odds.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 25 January 2011 22:39 (thirteen years ago) link

the new mordant & zingy ilxor persona (ilxor), Wednesday, 26 January 2011 16:20 (thirteen years ago) link

1900s are a psych-pop band from Chicago. that cover is terrible.

congratulations (n/a), Wednesday, 26 January 2011 16:28 (thirteen years ago) link

maybe more baroque-pop?

congratulations (n/a), Wednesday, 26 January 2011 16:29 (thirteen years ago) link

nah ilxor you are the tastemaker pitchfork follow. gonna do an awkward feature about hearing the jazz canon for the first time starting in november where jess harvell comes across a little 1950s equiv of lil-wayne-onion-cover-i-seemingly-can't-find-atm.jpg

supply 'n d-man (a hoy hoy), Wednesday, 26 January 2011 16:38 (thirteen years ago) link

the new mordant & zingy ilxor persona (ilxor), Wednesday, 26 January 2011 17:11 (thirteen years ago) link

really tho, just sayin there are pfork writers who read ilm & the timing is such that someone could've seen the img post 6 days ago, gone "hey those are great covers" and contacted/interviewed the guy in recent days

just sayin

the new mordant & zingy ilxor persona (ilxor), Wednesday, 26 January 2011 17:13 (thirteen years ago) link

also pfork writers who listen to madlib

supply 'n d-man (a hoy hoy), Wednesday, 26 January 2011 17:14 (thirteen years ago) link

didn't know they existed-- i don't recall pfork reviewing any of the 10 medicine show releases last year

the new mordant & zingy ilxor persona (ilxor), Wednesday, 26 January 2011 17:20 (thirteen years ago) link

or oh i dunno, the badu record?
