Best Song on Diddy - Dirty Money's "Last Train to Paris"

"Pon de Floor" sucks and "Ass on the Floor" is great tho.

If you hate "Pon De Floor" your taste is music is so far removed from mine that if we were ever in the same room it would explode.

The beat is great but the synths really fucking annoy me.

I dunno that it's an actual sample, but it definitely uses the same (distinctive) cadence.

They might just use the same source sample, but in the UK Pon De Floor has impacted way, way wider than pretty much everything else Diplo has done. It may be Diplo but it's not just a hipster touchstone, and Diddy knows his club music and I'd be very surprised if he hadn't heard Pon De Floor.

Yeah Pon De Floor seems to now occupy that Witness: One Hope slot of songs that were never really hits but now everyone seems to love.

All the important bits of "Pon De Floor" are by Afrojack actually. Major Lazer just dressed it up a bit (e.g. adding Vybz).

That's one reason why it feels like such an important record, it short-circuits mainstream clubbing and frankendance so efficiently.

it's just "last night pt 2" and "change" but they're both excellent songs (i know i'm in the minority on "change") and work really well with the flow of the album, the latter especially

everytime I see "Last Night Part 2" i keep thinking Diddy made a sequel to the Az Yet song

there are 2 tracks added to the main sequence, plus 2 more bonus tracks ("First Place Loser" and "Love Come Down")

btw what do you guys think the worst track is? for me it's either "Looking For Love" or "Strobe Lights"

i've been trying to bait people into having this discussion for a min now actually

for me it's any of the 3 songs with wayne or drake, though "strobe lights" is redeemed by its final minute, which i love. "your love" does nothing for me, either

i always think i'm not into "Your Love" when it starts and by the end i'm like holy shit this is amazing

imo "Loving You No More" is so good that not even Drake can ruin it

"your love" improves as it goes on and is not awful strictly speaking but i really hate that beat, got to be the weakest on the album

"your love" is really strong imo, i love the tension of the beat - reminds me of omarion's "i get it in" and the dirty money girls slay on it.

worst track is "yesterday" fairly easily. i have the standard edition track listing and the bonus trax as free-floating mp3s and am happy with that, the album isn't actually out in the UK yet.

it's missing about half the bass from "i get it in"

the opening & underlying plink-plunk percussion just puts me off, such a out-of-place played sound on an album like this

reminds me of "turnin me on" more than anything and i never really liked that song all that much so

"strobe lights," yes -- i love lil the vocoder part at the end of "your love" -- kinda wishing they had integrated that more into the song

i'm not a huge fan of "love come down"

well that's a bonus track on the deluxe version that's not even an option in this poll.

original "Angels" single version would easily be my least favorite song out of this project, but the synths on the remix redeem it somewhat.

i love "love come down" and am actually disappointed it's not on the main album - hate the recent trend for artists/labels to disown underperforming lead singles

there are actually three different tracklists of this (original, cd deluxe, digital deluxe) and i have no idea why, maybe we should poll them lol

My general opinion of Sean Combs was such that I was legit shocked + floored when I finally heard this album. Still sounds so great.

the one before it suggests its heading in this direction tbh. i actually expected at the time "press play" to sound more like what ended up being "LTTP" just because he was already listening to all the music that influenced LTTP but he hadn't quite adapted it to his A&R skillset yet i guess ... still "Press Play" has some crazy shit on it. The Keyshia Cole song in particular

"Press Play" also has Mario Winans-guested "Through the Pain" which kinda felt like it coulda fit on LTTP.
