shd do a 'most annoying blogger' poll--i feel like there is some kind of bullshit wired article someone could write about 'blogger fatigue,' where when youre reading 10-12 things by these people a day they start to realllly annoy you cause its like youre hanging out with them all the time only youre not allowed to talk

max, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 03:48 (thirteen years ago) link

what's the deal w/this ioz person?

Hypocrites Lecteurs, Semblables, et Frères

lol @ blogroll

daria-g, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 03:49 (thirteen years ago) link

he's an anarchist, man

Definitely feel this nausea after reading digby and Greenwald back to back.

Gus Van Sotosyn (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 4 January 2011 03:52 (thirteen years ago) link

he is an entertaining libertarianish gay dude who hates everyone and everything, and writes well i think.

kind of from the "define all problems as being way more deep seated and hopeless than you imagine, so 'doing something' is always stupid" school.

xps

goole, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 03:55 (thirteen years ago) link

wait is that "deep seeded"? i never know

goole, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 03:57 (thirteen years ago) link

are we talking about morbs?

ich bin ein ilxor (deej), Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:00 (thirteen years ago) link

its a if morbs were glen greenwald sort of thing

ice cr?m, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:01 (thirteen years ago) link

ioz - how do i not know this person. i'm sure i must..

daria-g, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:02 (thirteen years ago) link

greenwald is gay too xp

fruit of the goon (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:04 (thirteen years ago) link

ioz is a good counterweight to the "lets think this 1 thru" school of technocratic liberal market-based solutions yglesias stuff that dominates the blogosphere... and wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more hilarious than glenn greenwald

max, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:04 (thirteen years ago) link

ioz is v challopsy, no doubt about that.

recent controversies: racism didn't end after 1965 so rand paul talking shit about the CRA is nbd and if you complained about it you are probably a racist liberal anyway because obama presides over the drug war.

also, climate change? what, the climate changes all the time.

somehow he still entertains, i dunno

goole, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:07 (thirteen years ago) link

i'm like for real how do i not know this person in dc who is dropping snooty french language references and then posting stuff like too many unsportsmanlike penalties are called on THIS GUY on the steelers. (not enough of those calls are on the steelers imo)

daria-g, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:10 (thirteen years ago) link

its the ranting, the always on greenwaldian fire hose of anger, these guys are so proud of how mad they are

ice cr?m, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:10 (thirteen years ago) link

i can't read greenwald any more. he writes too much. edit that stuff please. get a powerpoint, maybe

daria-g, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:10 (thirteen years ago) link

Greenwald has other virtues but humor ain't one of them.

Gus Van Sotosyn (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:11 (thirteen years ago) link

i think he is for real in pittsburgh!

goole, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:11 (thirteen years ago) link

i am not impressed! but yes he is funnier than glen

ice cr?m, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:11 (thirteen years ago) link

i also don't know how they manage to stay mad for so long! i got tired of that. and being angry on the internet looks pretty silly in retrospect, most of the time

daria-g, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:12 (thirteen years ago) link

also the showy erudition, plz u know u just looked half that shit up on wikipedia

ice cr?m, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:13 (thirteen years ago) link

ice cr?m, Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:13 (thirteen years ago) link

speaking as a gay man, I can affirm that I'm not always angry, but I do get miffed when I'm out of rugelagh, as I am tonight.

Gus Van Sotosyn (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 4 January 2011 04:21 (thirteen years ago) link

Greenwald has other virtues but humor ain't one of them.

― Gus Van Sotosyn (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, January 3, 2011 11:11 PM (Yesterday)

yeah my god he is completely humorless, def a flaw of his

fruit of the goon (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 4 January 2011 05:27 (thirteen years ago) link

Now suppose he sits down in a room with Rupert Murdoch, Rush Limbaugh, Tom Donohue, and David Koch and persuades all three of those people that this is the right way to proceed.

classic yglesias

iatee, Saturday, 8 January 2011 02:43 (thirteen years ago) link

jefferson airplane on krugman's blog. give my vote to him.

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 16 January 2011 21:59 (thirteen years ago) link

i missed this thread, but i would've voted for Ezra Klein. mostly because he is more insightful on economics and health care (which are topics i care more about) than Yglesias, whose expertise seems to be foreign policy (which interests me, but not as much). he also doesn't have Yglesia's tendency to disappear up his ass wr2 philosophical musings and such.

things i learned abt matty glesi today: he is a recovering rageoholic, he works standing up now

ice cr?m, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 17:39 (thirteen years ago) link

other things i know: he has lost a lot of weight recently, he is tall

ice cr?m, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 17:40 (thirteen years ago) link

what is rageaholism

goole, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 17:52 (thirteen years ago) link

it is when u cant get enough of rage i think

ice cr?m, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 17:53 (thirteen years ago) link

wow that would be terrible

working standing up is a donald rumsfeld thing, i wonder if the two are related? seems counterproductive if so

goole, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 17:55 (thirteen years ago) link

i miss billmon
