went back to peep the cos shoes earlier but the only pair in my size were fairly badly scuffed and was only offered another 10pc off so just left them

Really torn about the duckie browns. Basically the situation was this: got $150 in gift cards (would really not have preferred florsheim but I said I needed dress shoes and that's what I got); went in, bought some $200 dress shoes that I NEVER would have spent $200 for in my life, but since I was only adding $50, whatever. But even the $200 shoes I just didn't really like. Also the guy handed me a 20% off discount card on the way out, so now I'm thinking, fuckit, maybe I should just trade up to the duckie browns at an extra $40. But they have to be proper as dress shoes with a suit, because I work in a law office.

they look similar to the cos pair I posted in the other new shoes thread (w/the brownish tan sole) and I wouldn't wear those with a suit I don't think, or at least not to work (also a law bod)

Not sure about the suit thing (which I get is U+K), but they are beautiful shoes.

hurting, the light brown leather sole on the black shoe would give a nice lift to the suit look, imo. gives it a bit more elegance and interest.

also i think it makes them look expensive, a black sole would make them look pretty bog standard.

Despite weighing an assload, my White's quickly became the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Trying to come up with cash for a pair in Chromexcel brown, single midleather sole, Vibram 705 halfsole.

Yeah, as I said above, definitely like them, just wondering if they will go well with a suit. Would be the most expensive shoes I ever bought but combination of gift card + discount makes them affordable.

Actually I think they might look sharp as hell with a charcoal suit. Fuck it I'm going back to try them on.

Thing is after all the fuss I made they really didn't look that unusual with a suit when I tried them on. Just a nice-looking well-made dress shoe with subtly different detailing.

The ~air technology~ was a genuine surprise when I bought a pair of Air Max 1's some years back in high-school. I looked upon them - and the little "peak window" into the sole - as gimmicky and pretentious... til of course I wore them. Really have been the most comfortable shoes I've owned yet.

I still refuse to wear Nike nowaday tho.

This will be my first pair of Nikes in many many years. In college I was very adamant about the sweatshop labor thing. Now it feels like you don't really have a choice, plus I think chinese working conditions have probably improved slightly due to the overall economic boom they've experienced.

what do you recommend as proper summer shoes for men, you know with shorts and all. i've always gone with either vans or chucks. i dont do flip flops.

Vans are officially the stinkiest shoes I have ever owned. Why I kept wearing them (several pairs over several summers) I have no idea.
