For me, considering the limitations of the media (the small screen, the never really perfect control mechanics) I'm not willing to pay $10 for a game, even if it otherwise has the same amount of content as a 360 game that I'd spend much more for.
― Mordy, Wednesday, 29 December 2010 17:33 (thirteen years ago) link
I was willing to pay 10$ for Carcassonne and Scrabble because I knew that I would play them basically for the rest of my life, considering I already play the board games. It was like buying knives for the kitchen or something. I know I'm never going to get sick of them and they both play very well on the iPad.
I paid 10$ for World of Goo because I have been wanting to play that game forever and the iPad seemed like a good way to play it. But for the most part I am not willing to shell out more than a buck or two for casual games, and usually am more than happy to just dick around with the lite version for free.

I don't feel bad for any 99 cent game I buy, even if I play it for 5 seconds and immediate hate it.

I finally managed to download Soosiz and it is indeed a lot of fun.
Also downloaded Minotaur Rescue and could not figure out how to play it, as usual with Llamasoft games. But I like the idea of it.

Guys, I just started getting into Chaos Rings and it is p legitimately a masterpiece. I mean, as far as the amount of time/effort/programming/thought/etc that must have gone into this game; there's a reason it's $13. This is making me remember how much I <3 <3 <3 Square Enix RPGs

If you don't like virtual controllers then there's not much to like there. Puzzle Quest and Noby Noby are both built for the touch screen I think.

the iPhone NBA Jam is surprisingly excellent! the controls are really smartly laid-out (buttons for shoot, pass, & turbo [which you activate by dragging over to the icon you want to do a turbo version of], and shake the device to spin/juke) and adding portability to NBA Jam's compulsive playability makes up for the lack of multiplayer.
also if you're jailbroken and have an iPad, I strenusouly urge you to drop the $2.50 for RetinaPad since it actually works on games, unlike FullForce.
