xpost I generally don't believe in writing the book on QBs in their first 3-4 years, especially given how Brees had a very mediocre 4 seasons before what he became, but usually you have something to hang your hat on to tell you he'll eventually be great.

Henne had lots of that in 09, but this year he can go from leading a methodical drive to flinging the ball up in the air randomly

the thing is that the whole offense is terrible -- i still contend that henne is no worse or better than mark sanchez, sanchez is just in an offense that can often mask deficiencies with an effective running game and good play calling (again, often), while henne really has no help whatsoever in that regard

like, for as bad as henne has been, sanchez still has more terrible games, and henne still has more good games i think, if you were to look at their stats

they're usually pretty good about being able to minimize the risk involved w/ sanchez throwing the ball tho, not so much tho w/ henne

with today's loss, chad henne's chances of starting the pro bowl were completely dashed.

henne has no upside for the future, but with a good running game & better offensive play calling (i realize here that i'm aspiring to the play calling of brian schottenheimer, but still) the dolphins clearly have a good enough defense to emulate what the jets do (special teams would have to get better, partic in the return game i think tho)

yes, tho, we do have a solid defense at least to build upon.

fins have a top 5 defense in the nfl & it's a really young defense too, but their running game is like bottom 3 in the nfl, so the whole structure of the team doesn't really compute

but what j0rdan said underscores the difficulty. everything about the offense -- save jake long -- has to improve.

the WRs are good enough too i think -- they need a better offensive coordinator and a total overhaul at the rb position & interior line

it's so easy to find wrs in the nfl too that it's not worth dumping more into the position after what they did to get marshall
