We were in Botswana looking at a pack of 15-odd, thinking how cute they were and wondering what the smell was. Where your normal dog will mark its territory by running a slash under a tree, these dudes MARK THEIR PACK instead. THEY PISS AND CRAP ON ONE ANOTHER. So that's what the smell was.

What is the fish that looks a lot like the viperfish but has giant, almost opaque eyeballs that are a solid milky white? And kind of a more elongated head? I think the giant isopod and the hagfish are both a little homely-cute.
