at what point has an ilxor *earned* his/her own "ask _____" thread, in your opinion?

Having a host of bad opinions, a high ego, and posting inanities on every good thread is a good place to start. Also, a passive-aggressive seething anger at most of the sociopaths who post here also helps.

Or, you could just start your own. Though, you know, unless you're a girl, it looks kinda funny.

PP, are you describing me specifically or a general, archetypal veteran ilxor? Either way, OTM.

i think i have inanities and passive aggression covered. maybe once i had an ask thread, but it never caught on u_u. i am trivialized.

No, I haven't. I have been compared to Sean Penn, Jeff Daniels, Ed Norton, and Mr. Bentley from "The Jeffersons".

I kinda think I've got a Kyle Busch thing goin', but I know I'm only fooling myself.

Definitely good work on the passive-aggressiveness. Maybe I'll revive your old thread if I don't find something more useful to do.

PP-

ever read any Charles Portis?

gr8080 -

I've never gotten around to True Grit, but Dog of the South isn't bad.

If you're ever stuck at the library and wondering what to look for because you've already read everything, Portis ain't a bad place to start.

i just read his first one, Norwood. It was pretty good.

gr8080, Friday, 11 July 2008 16:03 (fifteen years ago) link

I haven't read as much of his stuff as I should. Right now, I'm occupied with How the States Got Their Shapes, a book that I had the idea to write ten years ago (but was too lazy.)

Haven't made it to Maryland yet (I'm in the I's), but the answer to most of these questions is "slavery" and "we hate Mexicans".
