for sheer joyous MES joyousness, "eat y'self fitter".
but really, this is too difficult. almost every word he ever uttered is a gem. i've been listening to a LOT of fall recently, and i still find myself amazed by just what goes on in MES's mind.

Gaaawd, there's so many. Especially after getting the excellent Peel Session box set.

Although the muffled, barely-intelligible quality of the lyrics and 'read-outs' on those are a big part of what I love about 'em, so wanting to hear them without being buried in the mix is a little perverse.

See, if you came across a new(ish) band in 1978 and theres their first album, and look there's a song called "Music Scene"
I'm betting you would not expect the first lyric to be:
"Oh aye you're a good lad Here is a pound note"

C n' C Hassle Schmuck from the Peel session has some great one-liners. "You wouldn't even know the sun was up unless there was a press release on it", a mock tribute to Arthur Askey "who's just been shot" and the pre-cog "the date was 2010, all England was a university town - all you could get was wine"
