Music that you can only listen to while driving - vs- can't

Considering most of my music listening is done using headphones, a lot of 60s albums only available in mono all sound better in the car.

Krautrock on Faust 4 is great for aggresive motorway driving.

I don't know about driving, but when you're staggering home drunk with a kebab the best album to sing at the top of your lungs is What's the story morning glory; a few of us managed to get through the entire album, complete with guitar solos and cheesy drum intros.

I'm with Roger on this one too. I love to listen to classic-rock radio on long car trips. Boston's "Don't Look Back" sounds just about right zipping through Richmond on 95 at 65. And once in a while, I get to hear something I would actually play at home: Zep, Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion," etc.

lee g speaks the absolute gospel truth. i can't really imagine enjoying boston anywhere outside of my car, but "rock and roll band" you gotta crank. you just GOTTA.

i should know better than to read or post on ilm at this point, but can we talk about the huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge difference between listening to Radar Love in yr car vs. any other venue? whenever it comes on while i'm driving it sounds like the hugest most amazing song ever recorded and i am driven (so 2 speak lolol) into an air drumming frenzy. if i play it on my computer, it sounds like penis.
